I’ve had her a long time, going on 18 years. In the last year she has green increasingly scrawny, but she’s hues no signs of pain or being otherwise impaired. She had a vet visit about her weight loss a few months ago and the diagnosis was: she’s old. Five hundred bucks to hear what I knew better than anyone.
In the last couple weeks she has taken to urinating around my home. She had another vet visit yesterday, and part of me is almost wanting there to be something wrong, something that am be treated in some way. Because if I spent another three hundred bucks just to hear that she’s old again I think I’ll cough up a hairball. And I feel guilty as hell for thinking that way.

You're allowed to get frustrated with pets. You're taking care of them as best you can, but it still is a situation you can be frustrated with.

Did they take bloods?
Coincidentally my cat recently lost weight and urinating outside litter box and vet took some blood and found an over active thyroid

One of our two cats (they are brothers) early on urinated on all of our carpets. He ruined all of the carpets and some of the flooring. If you think you spent a lot of money because of your cat, this cat cost us a fortune. First, as a sphinx cat he cost a small fortune from the breeder in the first place. After that, can you imagine how much it costs to rip up all of the carpets, replace some floorboard, lay new underlayment, and replace all of the flooring in the house with vinyl tiles? I did it and still cannot imagine how much it cost me.
Now, I eventually figured out what his issue was (or at least I developed something that more or less stopped the behavior). He apparently was afraid to use the litter box without being watched by one of his humans (he did not mind pooing without an audience, strangely enough). We now take him to use the litter box regularly so we can avoid that issue moving forward. It's annoying, but it saves me trouble.

She has done this in the past, and usually it’s her way of letting me know she is upset about something. But with her she I can’t be too sure.

I wouldn't say so. Sometimes it's just kind of easy to get into that sort of headspace on things, where you're half-hoping for something bad if only because if it's bad at least you'd have an explanation.

Adding to that, if she’s doing it because she’s old, there’s no fixing it. If she has developed some condition it might be treatable.

No, it’s just frustrating when pats get older. They don’t know what’s going on. I remember my dog when he was in his final months, it was brutal, it hurt, he would just crap everywhere and we were going to the doctors every other week.

I’ve made up my mind. I want to try to tough this out to my birthday in October, one last one together. But after they it’s going to be time. Unless she takes a turn for the worst before then. I don’t want to watch her deteriorate painfully. And I want to spend the interim showering her with love.
