For grounded I meant the ones that insist on everything needing to be realistic when again there is nothing realistic about the concept. Whatever style they want to go otherwise I've enjoyed Batman 66, Batman 89, The Dark Knight, TAS and Brave and the Bold... it's really just a matter of what you're trying to do with the character. But we keep getting the Grounded and Realistic takes on the character in movies to the point where you have to twist the characters that have existed for almost 100 years into things that don't even resemble themselves anymore to get it to fit their vision... because despite again the outlandish premise a thief that Obsessively needs to prove he's smarter than you or a bodybuilder with super steroids is a bridge too far for you. Hell one of my favorite things that Gunn added to the Snyderverse was that Batfleck met Batmite at some point... Still say that Augie's neighbor was Bat-Mite.

I'm tired of the thought that doing anything other than "grounded in reality" means "campy and over-the-top". Like, we live in a world where there's a beloved film franchise about a school for wizards and a long-running TV show about an alien who travels through time and space. I promise you, there's a wide wide world of possibilities that aren't either "crime drama that happens to have costumes" or "bat nipples and ice puns".
And I did suggest the real-time Clock King heist picture, but I would also love a Mad Hatter movie that feels like it was directed by SUSPIRIA-era Dario Argento.

Batfamily going against Hatter and Scarecrow (with all the wild mind control and hallucinations to boot) would be hell of a movie with the right director and DP.

I had a dream last night where it was Batman vs Penguin, Joker, Riddler and Catwoman just like in the old Batman movie... except all the villains were realistic and played their roles like they were cartel leaders with their names based off small little quirks. Like Catwomen is simply a female crimelord that takes her cat with her everywhere. Joker was gang leader that liked to break the ice with humor. That sorta stuff.
But Batman was full blown batshit crazy like Adam West turned up to 11. Basically the movie in my dream was serious crimelords taking over the city from the shadows like a real life mafia yet there's this dude running around in a Batsuit doing all kinds of goofy shit and screwing up all their plans by collateral damage rather than by his tactical skill and planning.

You know what's a film that was serious enough but still embraced its somewhat out there premise? Batman vs The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Its an odd crossover and the use of ooze as a plot point takes it some wild places, yet the whole experience works because the characters are written well and even the wild story turns don't feel contrived. Its the kind of flick I'd love to see a live action version of because it manages generally strong emotional moments while at the same time having Poison Ivy turn into a Venus Fly Trap. The best Batman movies seem to be the animated ones. Loved this one, Gotham by Gaslight, Mask of the Phantasm, Killing Joke and pretty much all of the TimVerse stuff.

I'd like to give a shout-out to The Doom that came to Gotham. The Mythos are my thing so I really enjoyed it.

Onomatopoeia. I think he'd be fun. I don't really see him translating well personally. KEvin Smith even stated he's a character that works in comics that won't translate well to other mediums, cause guns don't go "Bang"

KEvin Smith even stated he's a character that works in comics that won't translate well to other mediums, cause guns don't go "Bang" Gunn did say that WB is interested in an animated picture with the kind of scale of a Spiderverse, or at least, didn't shoot it down. In something stylish like that, yeah, I could see it working. Live-action? Not really. Also, leave out stupid shit like killing Silver St. Cloud for no particular reason. For a big comic guy like Smith, that was a lot more fridging than I expected from him, he really ought to know better.
