Yeah, all that stuff is more "The Social Network" than "Spotlight" like this seems to be in comparison. Not that it's good but the bar is so low these days so...yeah. It isn't, it's more that there's reasons why a lot of business biopics involve partners annoyed they got dropped or aren't making much money, because that's exceptionally common, whilst still in some ways morally bad. But like you said, that bar is so low, it's embedded into the planet for that stuff. I haven't even read all of it but even the idea of pushing stuff under the rug for the sake of someone is just...it's gross, to put it simply.

Your favorite internet personality is a scumbag. Like seriously how hard is it for talented people to just... Not be awful? Just as hard as it is for non-talented people to be. The difference is that not as many people are watching them all the time, so they don't get caught as much.

The End of Street Fighter Chode is due a re-watch it seems. (I kinda feel bad for Rina-chan/Kira Buckland in that Flash, All she was, AFAIK, was an obnoxious Haruhi Suzumiya fangirl who got a little overexposed in the animated parody scene. Getting away from Niosi was the best thing she did.) She's now become a legit VA and seems pretty cool at least. She's pretty good as Eirika, Jolyne, and 2B. Didn't even realize she was Rina-chan at first since I knew her from the MLP scene.

I think my favorite random Kira Buckland trivia is that she voiced Trucy Wright in some random Ace Attorney fan game then voiced her in Spirit of Justice.

Never liked YGOAbridged and the DBZAbridged only Ghost Nappa, Popo jokes and maybe Piccolo lines like Nerd were funny.
Wish the best for Tara and gets the needed amount of help.

So I tried posting this on the main TFS subreddit and it got deleted almost instantly. Way to make yourselves look innocent fellas.

There is a post there about it now but naturally the comments are all, "Um, if you were telling the truth you'd be going to the police." Because of course.

And here I just wished LittleKuriboh the best because his cat's apparently dying of cancer, this couldn't have been more badly timed.

Just as a widespread note, because for some reason it keeps happening in these threads, nobody cares if you liked the people being accused or what they did. Like, not a single person. There are no brownie points if you say anything.
The most important thing is that those affected get the support and help they need, whatever form it come in. That’s all.

I only heard of TFS because I learned a wrestler used one of the songs they made as his entrance music (my knowledge outside my country comes mainly from music and/or chats) but reading this left me in a bad taste. Outright disturbing.

So Martin and Scott has both put out statements regarding this. Scott’s statement is sadly a rather big nothing burger statement, pretty much just saying he and TFS as a whole would distance themselves personally and professionally from anyone the moment they knew they were a bad person, but time and again they wouldn’t publicly put out a statement because everyone they talked to(friends, coworkers, therapists, and their lawyers) would all tell them that doing a public statement would not help things much at all(ironic in hindsight because now it looks like they did jack shit for 10 or so years).
Martin’s statement was more in depth and offered more context on the situation(including very important context regarding his relationship with Shadyvox, that makes it look like Shadyvox was manipulating others to put a hit out on Martin’s public image), and while the initial person who compiled all of this naturally berated Martin in the comments of the post he put out with this statement for, again, taking 10 bloody years to speak out(because again like Scott and TFS he was advised not to speak out on it), they are grateful he finally did what he should have done.
So needless to say things have become a bit muddled now.

Not really the point...

Honestly, anytime I found out some who I liked or someone famous get in boiling hot water, hearing people making smug comments like "LOL never liekd them anyways" makes me wanna channel my inner Bright Noa and you'd know the rest. I'd rather focus on supporting the victims rather than make stupid comments. But back on topic, hearing this about Team 4 Star is just rather horrifying. It's like the Channel Awesome downfall all over again. The more days pass, the more I find out people who I liked did some pretty bad stuff...

Even if they didn't do any crimes themselves, it's the complacency that sucks, and that's where Channel Awesome's downfall also played a huge role There really needs to just be more awareness to this kind of shit, people need to realize it's both not ok to do and even more so not ok to downplay, blow off, or potentially be complacent in whether knowingly or not. It's a rancid look, this is exactly the thing that took SuperMega out like not even a week ago too. I think we might start seeing a groundswell of people coming forward if this is an indication which is also a sad thought as well if it happens.

Martin and at least Kaiser so far of TFS both responded Martin also has receipts to seemingly disprove at least some of the things that were being said about him and his wife, won't embed because the quoted tweet has language twitter.com/yugiohtas/status/1689115566580305920

Apparently Kaiser was told even by his own therapist not to talk about this stuff
Idk, they've both not downplayed the accusations and also don't deny what happened with the people accused (And have even noted they either didn't know the true severity and cut them out of their lives even when they did for others) but this is sure sounding like people are forcing their hands to talk about dramas they tried to cut out of their lives and are now being hogtied and wrangled into the forefront because they have the fanbase to force it to matter
Which is like, really shitty if that's the case, you could argue they should have said something to try and stamp these people out, but at the same time, if you barely know them and just want to get out of the situation entirely, it's a complicated situation where their decisions are taken out of their hands when they are painted to look like complacent people in situations of grooming and abuse
This is starting to turn into a mess fairly quickly, but I think Martin and Kaiser's responses were done fairly well, Scott more so in follow up replies where Martin addresses every point in document.

I think we might start seeing a groundswell of people coming forward if this is an indication which is also a sad thought as well if it happens. With what Kaiser and Martin have said, I think I need to make a point to reiterate, being complacent can't be the norm for this stuff anymore. Being advised to not talk and maybe also having legal reasons not to is one thing, but I do think that more should be done when these people get caught in these dramas with the people LK and TFS cut out of their lives, whether it's help from others, or making sure internally that people like that can't stay above water in these environments, not EVERYTHING has to be done publicly, but there should be some measures taken to just blacklist these people so they don't keep up patterns and get into places where they can. I'm glad Martin has owned up to this fact and agreed that what he thought was the right thing to do probably wasn't the right thing to do, even if advised. I don't think holding onto a grudge to them, specifically for ten years comes off a bit aggressive, but when you've been hurt and you want someone with a platform to help and they won't, I get why you'd force their hands. Horrific timing on the part of Martin though, dealing with the potential death of your Cat due to cancer and then this in the span of like 2 hours is rough, and I hope he is ok mentally too. There needs to be a better system so this stuff doesn't simmer for a decade and blow up into a mess, like it did today.

I feel the thread title should be changed because it isn't QUITE what happened. Nuance is important.

I kind of think that if your lawyer tells you that you can't talk about certain things, you probably have to put a statement out there saying as such (something like "I know that everyone wants me to speak about _x_, but for legal reasons, I can't"), if only to attempt to keep the people constantly saying "You know, it's suspicious and gross that you haven't said anything" off your back.
