Something I wondered after reading a post in the AEW Collision Rating thread, where someone pondered if they would do better ratings against a non-big 4 PLE. Besides Wrestlemania, I feel like all of the other PLE's don't feel any less than the Royal Rumble, Summerslam and Survivor Series (which really hasn't been much of a big deal in quite some time) Now this may be due to WWE traveling abroad often for PLE's this year giving us some damn special audiences. But the Rumble and Summerslam are now stadium shows yet feel more like equals. Anyway, if the big 4 are losing their luster so to speak, is it really that bad of thing?

I mean for me it's still the Rumble, then the rest of world wrestling.

Summerslam is a weird one. Mania, they try to get everyone on the card (or atleast everyone important), but Summerslam they left off Trish vs Becky and I remember a few years ago they left out both Roman and Bryan when it made Sense for them to have a match against eachother

I think the Rumble, Mania, and SummerSlam are in a class of their own as demonstrated by them turning into stadium shows. Money in the Bank is probably the next biggest one though as opposed to Survivor Series. Some of the others may feel more special from time to time (like Backlash in Puerto Rico this year) but others like Payback I think may still be good shows but will be a step below the bigger ones.

The Rumble is my favorite event of the year. Wrestlemania comes in second.
Beyond the era of only 4, Summerslam never felt like a Big 4 to me. Aside from it being held in stadiums, it always feels like a B+ PLE. Survivor Series has kind of always been a nothing show.
There are 3 PLEs I get excited for. To me these are "The Big 3"
The Royal Rumble Wrestlemainia Money In The Bank
My next favorite is Elimination Chamber. Basically these are the PLE's that feel like they have stakes. Stakes that can only be resolved at these specific PLEs.

Not really as a group but I really don’t care about the survivor series as a show, and didn’t WWE think about dropping it at one point a decade or so ago and didn’t.

Rumble and Mania are the only ones I get really excited for anymore. Summerslam is the next level and then all the rest are just there for me.
Edit: I will say MITB the last couple years (especially this year) has seemed like a big deal.

I've considered MITB to be a big 4 PPV (as Survivor Series' replacement) for a while now.

I've long considered Money in the Bank way more important than Survivor Series. Most years I'd argue, like, Payback is more important than Survivor Series.

It seems more like a Big Three and Slighty-Less-Big Two at this point. WrestleMania, SummerSlam and Royal Rumble all being stadium shows now, then Survivor Series and Money In The Bank.

To me at least... claiming that the Saudi shows are bigger than or equal to 17 Wrestlemanias kinda makes me think less of all the shows to be honest.
