Not only is he miscast as a serious heel character but his matches have been mostly average lately. He was way better in the ring a year or so ago.
I think he has to go dumb comedy face again. It'll be fresh for most main roster fans who didn't watch The Way in NXT. Then if he gets over with that push him further up the card. Without any changes his current trajectory isn't taking him to the main event anytime soon.

Theory either needs to go hit the indies to pick up some actual talent or make the New JOB Squad. If they try to keep him around with minimal changes he's going to join that growing list of dudes that oozed potential but it never materialized for whatever reason. Oh well, that's why we use words like potential because 'it' ain't there yet. The thing is that Theory was an indy guy. Mostly in WWNLive-affiliated promotions; granted Evolve also had an association with WWE at the time.
Only thing that helps him is that he's still really young at 26. So he's got a lot of time to figure it out. The "Vince pet project" stink on him does him zero favors though. So first he has to find an "it" that even works for him going forward.

I have no idea how well Rey is doing right now but I'm glad a real living legend's getting some attention and respect still. I hope he's at least having a way better run than the mid '10s glass knees Rey who seemed like he was really past the good days. He looks great in ring tbh. 2010's Rey was a disaster and it felt like he was on the verge of retirement. Whatever dark voodoo magic he got done to his knees seemed to turn his clock back 20 years. it's the rage at his betrayal by dirty dom which has re-energized rey. as for theory the only time i really cared for him was when he was in "The Way" as the dumb jock of the family. i still remember the time he landed back first over the top rope in a battle royal- realized he hadn;t been eliminated because he feet hadn;t touched the floor and celebrated...by doing a kip up to eliminate himself. still after all this time randomly losing the belt to rey out of the blue seemed odd. unless santos is turning heel and rey puts him over in his last feud before retiring?
