Hulk was the reason I started watching wrestling when I was about 6 years old. It didn't take long before I learned to hate him. I took Orndorff's side in their feud. I cheered when Macho slapped him. I was happy when Yokozuna "ended" Hulkamania. A weird thing has been happening over the past few years though and I've really come to appreciate him as a performer. Maybe it's nostalgia talking, but when it comes to guys who give me that warm, fuzzy feeling when I watch wrestling, Hulk is a top 5'er.

My favorite Hulk Hogan moment is when Russo fired him.

I can't believe he's just now 70.
I felt like he's been 70 for like a decade, brother.
I'm a younger fan, my memories of him are mostly his comeback run in 2002. Before that, my grandfather had a TV Guide(he collected them) with NWO Hogan on the cover, and I remember thinking "this guy looks like a huge star!"
Between that, and the semi truck segment with The Rock, Hogan certainly made an impression on me despite being slightly before my time.

Hulk is a dude who I can safely say I differ from a LOT, like on account of the white supremacist rhetoric and the undermining of maybe the best chance a wrestler's union ever had of existing. I try to reconcile that shit with the same guy that there is no shortage of wrestlers who admire him or have some stories of him helping them out in a big way or being the best payday they got, working him. Humans are nuanced, I guess.
As for favorite moments, I can point to two things, outside of saying that his Japanese matches are legitimately in many cases quite good. There's a reason he's one of the top gaijins you can point to for impact, for instance. But, the two moments I'm choosing are his title match with Lex Luger, which is absolutely fantastic, and his contract signing with Andre the Giant for their WM3 match, which is one of the best produced segments in wrestling history, remaining among WWE's best ever.

One of the most passionate babyfaces and most fun cowardly heel characters of all time.
That said, f*** Terry Bollea 24/7/365.

I was rewatching the MTV specials, early SMNE and Mania’s a few months ago and holy hell he is just on a different level as a superstar. That dude just had every crowd wrapped around his finger, and it’s really fun to watch. And obviously the early nWo stuff a decade late is really well done as well
One can say what they want about Terry Bollea the human, and I likely wouldn’t disagree, but man Hulk Hogan the performer was something else when he was at his peak

Was a huge Hulkamaniac when I was little. I remember bringing his action figure with me to show and tell in Kindergarten.

I'm glad he's still around when so many of his peers from that era aren't. 70 is a great number to hit as a professional wrestler from that time period.
I grew up with Hollywood Hogan, and man when he was heelin' it up, he was just the coolest. The end of his WCW run wasn't great, so I was happy to see him have one more run in WWE and face (and put over surprisingly) a lot of modern stars. The roster around 2002-2003 was absolutely loaded with big time names; it felt like a video game dream roster at times.

My favorite Hulk Hogan moment is when Russo fired him. My favorite moment is when Russo called him a big, bald son of a bitch.

One of the biggest stars in history. Maybe the best big arena performer of all time. Two massive runs and successes and if anything underrated as a promo.
Massive c***

I can't believe he's just now 70. I felt like he's been 70 for like a decade, brother. Saw a tweet the other day that mentioned Hogan was 42 when the Billionaire Ted skits aired. He’d practically be in his prime in today’s WWE, with last night’s Smackdown featuring a 48 yr old winning the US Title and a dream match being hyped between a 49 & 45 year old duo.
