He seems still to be doing well, i mean he probably can't really walk wothout Pain at this point but no wonder after being doing it for so long. Let's hope he stays another few Years he's like the last true Icon of the 80s that's still there. Andre is gone. Savage is gone. Piper is gone. Warrior is gone.

I was hoping we could avoid the controversy please. You wished a self-professed racist a happy birthday and were hoping we could avoid the whole "he's a racist" part?

I thought he was older too for some reason.
I missed out on hulkamania. His nWo heel shtick was one of many things that finally lured me into getting into wrestling. Much like Vince, it’s almost impossible to underplay their part and contribution to this wacky thing we call wrestling.

You wished a self-professed racist a happy birthday and were hoping we could avoid the whole "he's a racist" part? Why does everyone ignore his apology? Because it was bullshit. Why does everyone defending his apology ignore the many ways he's proven since that it wasn't sincere? - The retweeting a white supremacist twitter account shortly after his apology that asked (paraphrase) "Why did Hogan lose his job for saying the n-word but Obama said it on a podcast and didn't?" - His poorly received addressing the locker room regarding the racist tape and just telling them not to get caught rather than showing any actual remorse. - He said the wrestlers who didn't accept his apology were "not part of the WWE brotherhood." Every time he's addressed it since it happened, he clearly doesn't get why what he said was wrong.

Other wrestlers shit on him all the time, but none of them accuse him of being racist? No fans who've met him, recall him being racist? Sorry. I just don't believe it.

The man himself dropped a hard-r n-bomb, referred to himself as a "racist" and then made incredibly dehumanizing statements about black people. He then failed to address the true gravity of what he said in any of his apologies including the ones you quoted. What's there not to believe? Do you need something more than a recording of a direct first person account? This wasn't just a momentary slip or poor choice of words. This was an outright deeply racist rant. Just because he's been a smart enough businessman to keep his racism out of the workplace doesn't mean he's not a racist. I know he's one of your favorites, but you need to accept and process that the person you enjoyed heavily is a whole-ass racist. Denying it just makes it worse. It's even possible, as we've seen in this thread, people saying "f*** terry bollea, i like the hulk hogan character and have so many fond memories tied to it but can acknowledge he's a piece of shit racist."

He then apologized for those comments. Saying And then, if we're talking actions, how did he follow that "Apology" up? By retweeting a white supreamacist expressing that it's wrong Barack Obama didn't get in trouble for using the n-word but Hogan didn't, completely divorced of the context that 1) Obama is a black man and 2) it was an interview describing racism that he himself experienced. Hogan then gave an "Apology" to the locker room that didn't address what he did and just warned wrestlers that anything they say at any moment could be on tape. That's a far cry from "i'm sorry i said horrible things that I don't mean." And then he said wrestlers who didn't accept his apology "weren't part of the wwe brotherhood," openly excluding those who acknowdleged the racism of what he said.

Even if Hogan didn't use a racial slur, his comments were still racist as f***.

Just because someone hid the racism doesn't mean he's not racist. The racism came out as soon as he discovered his daughter was dating a black guy. Now should we have found out about the racism? No. It was a massive breach of privacy by someone he thought was a friend. But the fact is we did and we can't put the toothpaste back in the tube, especially when Hogan's remorse boils down to "I said sorry, why is everyone still mad at me?"

I was hoping we could avoid the controversy please. Looking at the entirety of page two, this aged super well lol I don't know what you expected but the guy you loved as a child and still love now isn't the guy in 2023, and he will never be that guy again. Sorry if this is a hard pill to swallow, but when you talk about Hulk Hogan now, this is what you're going to get, and there's really no way you can just "Avoid the controversy" when the biggest name in the history of the sport was caught on camera being a blatant racist. And just so we're clear, just because YOU accepted his "apology", doesn't mean everyone has to accept his "apology" or be respectful of him because of what he did in the past. Not how it works.
