I wish that was the end of Jey portion of this story because he isn't gonna be winning the damn title and this sends him off in a good light.
But nope he is gonna remain stuck untill Romwn beats him.

He'll be back at the next ppv but regardless I have no idea where they're going with this storyline. I mean it seems Cody is getting the belt next year at WM but this other stuff I don't know. SRS brought up a good point in that they've built this "tribal chief" position up to be as important as the title itself (which further proves Cody should have won) but with that said Reigns won't always be the tribal chief. I can see Jey eventually beating him but shit they will probably drag it out to be after Reigns loses the belt to Cody. All this stuff seems like padding now.
I don't know what's going on.

Honeslty, they should just move him to Raw and then go the Jimmy match at mania. Roman and Jimmy can have a heel vs heel program for the title in the mean time

I will say, though, the explanation Jimmy gave was kinda what I thought they'd go with.

At the very least, I’m happy Jimmy isn’t a full blown heel back with the bloodline. He actually seemed sincere with his motive didn’t attack Jey, and really thought he was gonna get a hug at the end lol.

"I don't want you to be corrupted by power and break our tag team up, so I cost you the match and the title and kept a power hungry tyrant as the head of the family and ended our tag team in the process"
What an absolute numpty Jimmy Uso is.

If he didn't specify he was quitting WWE as well as just Smackdown I would've assumed he'd show up on Raw to team with Sami and help him defend the tag titles while KO is hurt to return the favor from early this year when Sami substituted in and teamed with Jey to defend the titles when Jimmy wasn't there. Seems like a post-Fall Brawl 96 Sting "I'm tired of this shit and can't trust anyone" style thing. I still wouldn't be shocked if Sami plays a part in convincing him to return eventually and face Jimmy. The weird thing is that: {Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}Rikishi is appearing at an upcoming indie/convention and the poster lists him as being special referee for a Jey v Jimmy match at Payback. Of course it could be fake but it's a weird thing to randomly make up and put on a poster.
After his big dramatic moment tonight he really has to be gone at least a couple months before returning to sell the mindstate he's in. Payback is like 3 weeks away. That seems too soon for him to return, much less do the match, after what went down tonight. I wouldn't have him return until around Rumble time or maybe Survivor Series at the earliest as a surprise partner in a war games match v Jimmy's team.

Also, Jimmy stating that Jey would have turned into a despotic overlord of the family just like Reigns because the position of Tribal Chief is like the One Ring implies that the entire family has been ruled with an iron fist by whoever holds that title for generations.

The crux of that tribal chief can go onto Jey after Roman moves on thing has always bothered me as if Roman is this elder guy when Jey is only 3 months younger than him and has been wrestling for longer. It's not like it's Dustin/Cody here.

That tracks with the way "the elders" are always talked about as this powerful being that pull the strings from the shadows (like when they brought in Solo to protect Roman without telling Roman about it). The pressure/paranoia they inflict on the Tribal Chief to carry the family drives them crazy. I wouldn't be shocked if the story is eventually that they order Solo to take out Roman and take the Tribal Chief spot from him if Roman loses the title and/or stops following their orders.

My guess is they want Jey vs Jimmy at WM so they'll have to stretch this out in order to get there.

It's not like it's Dustin/Cody here. This is so true. I don't get the point of it. They've even retconned some of their past in that they're making it seem like Reigns controlled them as kids and always beat them up when shit as far as we know that's not true.
