The old soak just might have reinvented himself for the umpteenth time. One of these days it's going to be for the last time too, maybe this is it?
He turns face by...*checks notes* agreeing to join the heel faction and only Dim Don arrogantly bringing a painting to mock him as he didn't expect a yes answer facilitates the face turn. Although his opening monologue was a wee bit regretful at how the JAS ended and he sounded uncharacteristically humble and showed a degree of self-reflection.
Then the Osprey match gets set up (with Sammy seemingly going to be involved for better or worse) and he does a promo with Renee where he sounds a lot more serious and aggressive than any of the incarnations he has played since AEW became a thing.
This could be a temporary face turn as he's getting cheered in London because of Judas and there's a lot of WWE-only fans going (coz it's live wrestling which most Britons don't get to see often) so he'll be one of the most recognizable stars there. Osprey is far more well-known in Japan than his own country due to no WWE run and only half a dozen or so AEW appearances.
Post-All In though it doesn't look like he will return to his Le Champion/JAS character (which had run out of steam a while ago) and with JAS members all off having babies and looking for new hats we will probably see a new version of Jericho maybe it'll be similar to his SRS WWE character, maybe he'll become Lionheart again in his 50s, maybe something new entirely... hopefully not Painmaker unless he lets someone else do the makeup.

I'll be curious if Jericho can make a face identity work this time, because while it always feels like he gets the live crowds going, his face shtick has always felt like it's stuck in 1999
If he starts taking the character in a new direction, all for it, curious how it'll go with Sammy having his back too

Jericho tries to encourage Ospreay to get back together with Bea/Blair so he has someone to call a whore.
"I'm a face, gotta have a girl to call a whore, my dude."

I'm for it. Jericho is very hit or miss, so either way it's going to be a spectacle.
And the rub Sammy is getting so far is working very well. The crowd popped big for him coming out. Shows that maybe some people aren't beyond saving. We'll see what happens with future crowds and the build.

When is the last time Jericho wrestled?
I admit I'm skeptical about this match but equally Jericho is still capable of pulling it out of the bag

Shows that maybe some people aren't beyond saving. We'll see what happens with future crowds and the build. That's actually a really good point: Sammy's had a very positive turnaround with the audience of late, and some of that, I think, goes back to him and MJF doing their angle going into the four way match a few months ago. He used that story to lean into being a scumbag who'd take the payoff for taking a fall, but him showing he had more pride than that got the crowd to start being cool with the idea of him turning face again. Also thought the way he left the ring during the JAS meeting last week was interesting: he was the one member saying "you need to work your shit out...but I'm still here for you when you do", which is an interesting wrinkle to their mentor/student relationship. Makes me wonder if Jericho's last big run could be him and Sammy finally winning the tag belts or something, with kayfabe babyface Jericho coming to grips with the idea that his time on top has passed and it's time to pass the baton.

I admit I'm skeptical about this match but equally Jericho is still capable of pulling it out of the bag He last wrestled on the August 2nd Dynamite, teaming with Takeshita against Garcia and Sammy. His last singles match was against Kommander on the July 12th Dynamite.

They’ve been fighting the crowd with having him be a heel this long. The whole crowd singalong with the heels song was odd and something WWE Jericho wouldn’t have allowed he would have changed his music. He desperately needs some time off cause his character flip flopping the last couple years would have worked better with breaks in between.

Wonder if Sammy turns on Jericho at All In and joins the Callis Family thing. Then we go with Jericho vs Sammy program

This feels like it might be Jericho's last big singles match, honestly.

The whole Don thing has been overthought and convoluted. No idea what he does after All In, but watching that “serious” promo on Will backstage..yeah, Jericho’s almost there. I can’t see him wrestling in two years. Who knows considering how wrestlers are, but yeah..

This feels like it might be Jericho's last big singles match, honestly. Probably in AEW in least. I can see him going back to WWE for one last run and to put over AJ Styles at a PPV. As perplexing as it was at the time, the win for Jericho breathed new life into the latter stage of his career and a springboard to become a major player once again.

This is the longest Jericho has gone without a significant hiatus from wrestling (like, a year or more) since his initial departure from the WWE in 2005, i think?
Dude could really do with ending his full time career in the next few months. He's done it all, there's literally nothing left for him to do. Ideally Sting retires completely soon and Jericho steps into the Sting role.

It feels like this may be his last hoorah. They could even do the Flair "if I lose one more match I'll retire" storyline, with Sammy in the HBK role.

He's one of my all time favorites, but so much of his work lately has been more miss than hit for me. I can't wait for him to try to get something lame like "GFY" over again.

Yeah, this whole thing is about Callis trying to run Omega and The Elite out of AEW and now we’re spending time on him and Jericho? Just seems wholly unnecessary.
