Not that I don't want to see him, but I don't see what for... Get his win back from Theory? Yes. Have John give that bland, basic bitch an AA and pin him for the 1-2-3.

You know you've been around too long when people are saying Cena loses too much.

I don't care what Cena does, I'll rock with it because he's a GOAT.

If he's wrestling on Smackdown then he can give LA Knight a rub. Knight/Cena v Waller/Theory maybe. If he's challenging someone for the India show and it's going to be Raw guys traveling there then Cena/Cody either as opponents or tag partners makes the most sense. Cena/Cody/Seth v Judgement Day should sell out the remaining seats.

Actually really surprised he'd want to risk the optics of showing up during the strike.

It’s written in the stars that John Cena must get a stiffy on national tv once a year. He found out Trish was back and rose to the occasion.

With actors on strike, maybe Cena can come back and do a few matches? I never understood how Wrestlers on TV were not considered screen actors, but that's a different issue. I would not be opposed to Cena getting his win back from Theory. In hindsight, Theory was not the ready to benefit from a win over Cena. They dont have their own union and SAG doesnt want them I guess. Either way its non union work. So as long as Cena doesnt promote anything SAG related he is good.

I did pop for his new gear being based on Gulf racing colours: That’s a pretty hardcore motor racing reference.

I'm kinda surprised this will be their first time in India. Would've bet my life they'd gone there at least once

www.businesswire.com/news/home/20230828893569/en/John-Cena-Returns-to-Friday-Night-SmackDown%C2%AESo he's sticking around for a couple months and will be on all but one Smackdown between now and the end of October. Hopefully he gets a win back over Theory before putting someone (Waller/Jimmy/Solo?) over on his way out. Interesting that he's going to be on Smackdown and not Raw. You'd think Raw is the show that could use the help more once MNF starts and you could've done Cena/Cody at Fastlane since schedules might never allow it to happen at a Mania/Summerslam.

I'm guessing there's pressure to fill that Roman shaped void that's going to be on Smackdown until at least Survivor Series.

SAG would be happy to have them, but it would ultimately be up to wrestling show producers to register their productions under a SAG contract and start being subjected to a whole lot more regulations. They're never going to do that willingly, or allow their performers to be referred to as "actors"...
