Nightdive do good work, there's no better studio for this sort of work as each remaster seems like a labour of love, unlike the recent efforts by Blizzard and Rockstar. Hopefully they get a crack at Jedi Knight next.

This looks like someone made a ZDoom/GZDoom-esque source port for Dark Forces.
Not that that's a bad thing, mind you.

Hopefully they get a crack at Jedi Knight next. Yeah, Nightdive being attached to this is a good sign. I'm hoping they'll polish the gameplay visuals a bit, but even if they don't I expect this to be solid at the very least.

Nightdive might be the most consistent studio in the remastering business as they just got done with the Rise of the Triad which was apparently excellent. You know that their work is always going to be good.

One of the cosmetic changes will be to put Hayden Christensen's face in it somewhere.

I would have preferred Jedi Knight... But it's a start.

Two questions: 1. Isn't this just Doom in space? 2. Wasn't Doom already in space?

Two questions: 1. Isn't this just Doom in space? 2. Wasn't Doom already in space? It is a Star wars skinned Doom clone. 2. Kinda... the first episode takes place the Martian Moons ... but from what I remember you find out that you are actually not in space but are orbiting hell.

Two questions: 1. Isn't this just Doom in space? 2. Wasn't Doom already in space? Doom with actual effort put into having a story, something Carmack never cared for, and an engine where you could look and move up and down creating a closer to 3d experience than Doom, more akin to the build engine games.

Quake 2 was beautiful so I got faith My gf did all the weapon pickups in the remaster, and I really love the attitude the team had of not reinventing the wheel, but almost making it look the way you remembered it looking with nostalgia, fixing up things like the pixel art on weapons being projected in slightly dodgy perspectives, and upping the polygon count just enough for it all to look gorgeously polished but not losing what made it Quake 2.

If you both own the Star Wars Jedi Knight games on Steam and a VR headset, I highly recommend checking out the Teem Beef VR ports of Jedi Knight and Jedi Knight II You can actually sideload them onto a Quest 2. sidequestvr.com/app/15472/jk-xr-jedi-knight2-meta

This should be good since Nightdive has an outstanding track record when it comes to remasters.

This is the game that got me really into Star Wars. I’d seen the movies when I was younger but sort of left them in my childhood until I picked this game up, went bonkers over it, then rewatched the movies and became a big ol’ Star Wars nerd. Definite Day 1 pickup for me.

Wow, this brings back memories. Usually of getting lost and not knowing how to progress. Still enjoyed it.
Fun fact, this was the first FPS I ever used mouse and keyboard on.

Oh man I played the hell out of this game. The fan made levels were incredible, so much effort and love put into them, I wish they hadn't disappeared.

Sweet... Hopefully we get a remaster or whatever of its sequel at some point too.... Mostly because I want to see if they actually shot the FMV sequences for it in a higher quality than it ended up being compressed to and whether that affords them a chance to remaster those and their effects lolololol
