Who would be the first person he'd try to fist fight? I know folks would say the Miz, but that would be too obvious, so I'd say...
"Rolls dice"
... Von Wagner.

I'd rather he didn't but i honestly think he will return. There is money to be made in his return. Heck that's why Tony Khan held on as long as he could.
Of course he would definately lose to Roman at some point.

In terms of chaos created, is Punk the new Warrior?

Here’s the thing though, if Vince didn’t want him in2020 when he was still working his good guy IRL gimmick he damn sure doesn’t want him now with all that’s transpired in AEW, the merger, health issues, and investigations going on.
This isn’t 1998 where you can assault your boss and half of the backstage crew and then get a huge contract to jump to the WWF or WCW.
If he does manage to show up I still won’t be too surprised because wrestling is still some unprofessional carny bullshit, but the chance is pretty low I think.

60 people(currently)actually said yes? That’s disappointing. Dude has proven he’s a baby time and time again. A lot of people thinking with nostalgia goggles that think everything exists in a vacuum. Yup, and you also have people who want Punk to go to WWE for the sheer chaos. While I might find the thought of him crawling back to WWE funny as f***, I'd honestly prefer if the man got some help instead of going to another promotion with the mindframe he's in, even moreso when he still has a shit ton of animosity towards some of the people within the company. And for WWE to bring Punk back, that means heavy restriction being placed upon Punk. They're not going want a repeat of happened in AEW, and they're sure as shit aren't going to be nearly as lenient about it. This requires Punk to swallow his own ego and take what's coming to him as he doesn't have any leverage in negotiating his contract. I seriously doubt Punk is willing to compromise on that.

I don't think a new collab between WWE and CM Punk would benefit either party. If WWE took him on, they'd be seen as exploitative towards someone who's clearly in need of help. There's also the meta drama that WWE has, for over 20 years, tried to avoid like the plague. It just wouldn't be a good look for them. For CM Punk to return to WWE after all that's flowed under the bridge, it would represent an enormous betrayal of whatever values CM Punk was seen to embody.
Moreover, there's the time factor. At 44, Punk's value would be as someone who can put people over - a stage Punk himself seems unwilling to accept. There are others currently on the roster who never got what Punk was able to achieve during his run and who, arguably, deserve the accolates more. To bring Punk into the mix on his terms would likely have a number of them looking immediately for the exits, quite possibly into Tony Khan's arms. Triple H has around most of whom he's wanted around right now. There's no way he's risking his kingdom for a pearl of questionable value.

Honestly I think a wrestling ring is the very worst place for CM Punk to be right now. Everything about his AEW misadventure just points to a man with a lot of mental health issues he needs to work out and returning to wrestling again right away is just going to make things worse.

In terms of chaos created, is Punk the new Warrior? That's one of the people (along with Sid) that I compared him to in the "Punk's legacy" thread on the AEW board. It's the best comparison. Absolutely massive star who, at points, was probably the single biggest star in all of wrestling, but who has proven utterly incapable of setting his ego aside enough to have a truly sustained run at the top of a company.

Just put him on a legends deal. They can make action figures of him, put him in games, do merch. Everything else, nah. Kind of like macho man before he passed.
I think Punk needs a cooling down period where he’s not mad at the world. Kind of like warrior. He was super toxic for a while but then realized the world appreciated him he took it all in.
Granted both of those examples are people that passed away after making peace with the WWE. I don’t wish that on Punk

Freddie Prinze Jr. discussed the Punk/AEW stuff today on his podcast and flat out said that Punk was "a dick" to him when Prinze worked for WWE as a writer even in spite of the fact he was never put in charge of any of Punk's segments. He also said that whenever he has discussed potential plans involving pro wrestling with free agent wrestlers, everyone of them except one said Prinze should not have Punk involved.

Warrior never really stopped being toxic though, people just stopped listening. The last 12 months of his life he was still ripping off belt collectors by lying about which were "Ring used" when he would attempt to sell them. You can hear the toxicity in that Hall of Fame speech too. People pull the, admittedly touching, soundbytes of his words to his daughters and the desire for the "Warrior Award," but everything else is self-indulgent pass-the-blame I'm-actually-a-great-guy toxic horseshit.

Finn's cool as long as he gets paid haha I do suspect even some who outright hate the guy feel that way, too. Do I think hiring CM Punk would be wise? Not really, at least in the long term, but WWE does occasionally like exorcising demons as a flex. Hogan, Warrior, Sable, Bret, and so on, WWE loves getting people to come back to them, or in the case of some like Bischoff, to bring them in for a first time. For a handful of matches, I could see this working to a degree, but Punk on the road full time would be disastrous. I imagine he'd go the bus route again, maybe, both out of making road travel easier on him and because it minimizes chances of encounters anyone he has issues with, which is not an insubstantial number of people. Still, if he failed to undermine the Elite successfully in the long run, I don't think he'd make it a month if he tried that shit on Roman.

I think enough time has passed that we can start acknowledging that Warrior was always a piece of shit even if he said sorry to Vince specifically in the end.
