Here are my NXT Thoughts:
There are no words to describe Wes Lee VS Ilja Dragunov. What a way to start off NXT. I can't wait for Hayes VS Dragunov II at No Mercy. FACT: This was the 1st match between a former NXT UK Champion & NXT North American Champion since Tyler Bate VS Wes Lee on 6/20/23.
What an update on Von Wagner. Even with the videos that broke "the 4th wall", WWE still made it so real.
Fun segment with Baron Corbin & Bron Breakker. They should have a good match at No Mercy.
Josh Briggs, Brooks Jensen, & Myles Borne VS Drew Gulak, Charlie Dempsey, & Damon Kemp was horrible. What a way to waste 6 great wrestlers. FACT: It was Josh Briggs, Brooks Jensen, Myles Borne, & Charlie Dempsey's 1st 6-Man Tag Team Match in their Careers, Damon Kemp's 1st 6-Man Tag since he & The Creed Brothers lost to Gallus on NXT on 8/30/22, & was Drew Gulak's 1st 6-Man Tag since he, Bryan Danielson, & Otis lost to Cesaro, Baron Corbin, & Shinsuke Nakamura on Smackdown on 5/8/20. Though they said it was his 1st NXT match, it was actually Myles Borne's 3rd NXT TV match after he lost to Eddy Thorpe on 3/21 & Noam Dar on 4/18.
Lyra Valkyria VS Dana Brooke was a nothing match. FACT: There were no Facts for this match.
Cool. They're bringing back the NXT Women's Breakout Tournament. But what happened to the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic? I want that back too.
What the hell was that? Why should Eddy Thorpe be upset at Dijak for beating up a tree?
Good segment with Carmelo Hayes & Dominik Mysterio. They should have an excellent match next week.
Solid promo by Becky Lynch & Kiana James.
Tyler Bate VS Axiom was awesome like their previous matches. I love that they're promoting Level Up and though I will know the winner before it airs, I'm still looking forward to Bate VS Charlie Dempsey on Friday. And Bate VS Butch will be amazing. BTW, Noam Dar is a moron. FACT: This was the 5th 1-on-1 Match between them after NXT UK on February 6, 2020 (won by Bate), NXT UK on December 10, 2020 (won by Axiom), NXT UK on May 20, 2021 (won by Bate), & NXT on January 31, 2023 (won by Bate) so Bate has won 4 & Axiom won 1.
Weird segment with The Dyad. Why are there so many tree segments tonight?
Cool segment with Carmelo Hayes & Trick Williams.
What the hell is going on with Wes Lee?
The Creed Brothers VS Malik Blade & Edris Enofe was a great way to showcase The Creeds. I love all of the Tag Teams coming out afterwards. FACT: This was Malik Blade & Edris Enofe's 1st NXT TV match since they lost to Gallus on 6/27 & the 2nd 2-on-2 Match between them after 6/8/22, which won by The Creeds.
Nice segment with Becky Lynch & Lyra Valkyria.
Bad segment with Roxanne Perez, Lola Vice, Elektra Lopez, & the other women.
Nathan Frazer VS Akira Tozawa was another great wrestling match like their previous match on Main Event. This Global Heritage Invitational has been incredible. FACT: This is Akira Tozawa's 1st NXT since he lost to Santos Escobar (then El Hijo Del Fantasma) on 5/20/20, he is the 1st since Dominik Mysterio on 8/21 & 8/22 to wrestle on Raw & NXT in the same week, & this was the 2nd 1-on-1 Match between them after Main Event on 5/11, which was won by Frazer.
I have no idea what Joe Coffey said, but Duke Hudson was good. Wow, so much going on. Solid segment with Mustafa Ali & Dragon Lee. What's going on with Wes Lee? Fun attack by Gigi Dolin on Blair Davenport. And next week's NXT looks awesome as usual.
Becky Lynch VS Tiffany Stratton was a tremendous match. Tiffany has impressed me. She wasn't good when she started but she is the most improved wrestler of the year for me. She held her one against a WrestleMania Main Eventer. FACT: This was Becky Lynch's 1st match on NXT since she wrestled Rhea Ripley to a No Contest on 11/20/19 & her 1st NXT Women's Title Match since she lost to Sasha Banks at Takeover: Unstoppable on 5/20/15. Since she won, she is the 6th to be Raw, Smackdown, & NXT Women's Champion after Asuka, Sasha Banks, Bayley, Charlotte Flair, & Rhea Ripley, & 6th to be a Women's Grand Slam Champion after the same women I just mentioned, but 1st to do it with the NXT Women's Title as the Final Championship. This was Tiffany Stratton's 4th Women's Title Defense, so since she lost she is the 1st since Ember Moon who lost to Shayna Baszler at Takeover: New Orleans on 4/7/18 to lose in her 4th Defense. As of NXT, Stratton's Women's Championship Reign lasted 107 Days, which is the 4th Shortest Reign ahead of Indi Hartwell (4/1/23-5/2/23, 31 Days), Charlotte Flair's 2nd Reign (4/5/20-6/7/20, 63 Days), & Kairi Sane (8/18/18-10/28/18, 71 Days).

I honestly don't see Tiffany winning the title back. If anything, I think it's more likely that this is the catalyst for a Tiffany face turn. It's developmental, they want people to have a run as a face, heel & champion. Tiffany already got 2/3. It's time for the face run.

First Zoey Stark, then Trish at Payback, and now Tiffany twice, four times in 3 weeks I originally was going to say something else to describe this but after I typed it out it did not look appropriate at all and I was like thinking "PHRASING" in my head while laughing lmao |

Knew Becky would win it because there is quite frankly nothing for her to do on Raw untill the Rhea feud and Rhea is now busy with an oaf.
Wont surprise me if she makes it out of the year as NXT womens champion and drops it just before the rumble.

One of the few critiques that can be made about NXT is that they have a habit of, once a big match/story is done, having talent spin their wheels and lose momentum. It’s happened quite a bit recently honestly,
That had better not happen to Tiffany.
