Khan talked about the idea of having mega events with UFC on Saturday and WWE on Sunday, but that would require a large overlap between the audiences that I just don't think really exists anymore
At one time, there was a ton of crossover between WWE and UFC fans, but now the audiences seem very different. I go to events by each company and the crowds could not be any more different. Not going to turn this into a political thread, but going to both of these companies, it's literally almost like one fan group votes blue and the other votes red.
When Cain Velasquez debuted a few years ago, I don't think 90% of the arena even knew who he was, and this was a guy who was one of the most popular UFC champions of all time.
Outside of doing a stunt with Connor McGregor, I don't really see the upside of crossing over the talent.
Just in my view, wrestling fans are not "combat" fans anymore. No one is watching pro wrestling to get their "violence" kick like they once did. Fans watch it now to appreciate the athleticism and storytelling
Maybe I am wrong though. Would love to hear other opinions
