If that's the narrative of WWE going forward I've got no issue with it. I mean, 10 years from now that's what they'll call Reigns. 10 years ago I could have sworn they said Rock was the greatest of all time. It is what it is.

Haven’t they been calling him the Greatest of All Time for a few years now?

Then have him beat Flair's record while he still can!
Maybe if endeavour are even more corporate they'll realise that having Cena held up as the goat is less likely to be a PR issue than Flair.

Yeah Vince called Austin the greatest of all time in his hall of fame speech. They’ve also said HBK is the greatest of all time before. Taker as well probably. It will change in a few years. I just need WWE to call him “the greatest of all time” in every sentence please. Or Cena to do it himself for the Lols

Vince refers to Cena as his "Babe Ruth", but that's probably because he could only name about 6 baseball players.

Haven’t they been calling him the Greatest of All Time for a few years now? I think it's just that it's noted in backstage runsheets now. Like how Seth is now listed as Seth "Freakin" Rollins and Dominik is "Dirty" Dom.

A serious case can be made for him being a GOAT such as: - Carrying the company as the top Face for the longest amount of time since Bruno. His run as the top Face in the WWE was even longer than Hulk Hogan's. - His matching (and hopefully at some point, breaking) Ric Flair's official title record. Still waiting for number 17. - Him having a huge variety of classic matches (even at the points when I found him to be the most annoying person on the roster by never really facing much adversity). He has a great catalogue of matches: Kurt Angle, Undertaker, Edge, Umaga, Shawn Michaels, CM Punk, etc.
Not sure about him being "The GOAT." Of course, "The GOAT" is subjective. There are those that agree with Cena being in that spot, and that's fine, but I disagree. He's certainly an all-time great without a doubt.

Calling him the GOAT of WWE is fair, just as Austin and/or Hogan would be for the WWF and Bruno for the WWWF

Not gonna lie: if they actually ever wanted him to have a heel run, "Greatest Of All Time" would be a good hook for that.

In WWE accomplishments and Make A Wish ? Yes.
In ring, on mic, or as a character? Absolutely not.

His stuffed animals/figures have been with me, when I was in the hospital. I'm not mad about him being called "great". He's definitely made a mark on the industry.

Maybe having him win a match every now and then would make the GOAT name a bit more meaningful.

I mean to an entire generation of fans, he is the GOAT. Plus he transcends wrestling at this point.

Vince refers to Cena as his "Babe Ruth", but that's probably because he could only name about 6 baseball players. This made me LOL. 6 is probably a generous number for Vince. We also shouldn't include guys like Bob Uecker or Pete Rose because he probably only knows them because they were on PPVs. And I doubt he knew of them before. His staff could probably meet their sports heroes on Vince's dime during the 80s and 90s PPVs and Raw guest host days.

Maybe having him win a match every now and then would make the GOAT name a bit more meaningful. This is like complaining that the Roadrunner doesn't get enough dubs over Wile E. Coyote. I'd be into the name if it's a part of an overall heel turn. John Cena buying his own hype and turning into a delusion douchebag heel like 1999 Kurt Angle would be fun to see. "I was number 1 on the PWI Top 500 in 2006, 2007, and 2013! Peacemaker has a 94% average Tomato-meter! Blockers is currently ranked 1,358 in Comedy on Amazon!" Dude could nail a Hollywood Rock-esque heel turn.
