The first cartoon that fully grabbed my attention for being based on something I already loved (Genesis Sonic games)...I'd say Mario Super Show fits that, but it came out when I was really young, whereas SatAM arrived as I was just getting old enough to appreciate following stories more. Also the first cartoon that had me worried that the main characters were in genuine danger!
Ah, if only Disney had waited a bit longer to buy ABC; it's possible we'd have gotten a season 3 (though credit to the fans working to get it off the ground)...plus maybe another ReBoot season, though maybe that season 3 being more for YTV was for the best.
