I don't know how telling it is that we've yet to have an "explosive statement" from Punk about the situation. Maybe he's finally grown up? Probably trying to play nice in hopes that WWE will take him back. Or he doesn’t wanna get sued into oblivion

I enjoy AEW a lot less without Punk, but what can I do?

I don't know how telling it is that we've yet to have an "explosive statement" from Punk about the situation. Maybe he's finally grown up? Probably trying to play nice in hopes that WWE will take him back. If Tony Khan had any sense, he would have had Punk sign some non-disparagement stuff post-Brawl Out. I think Punk had wanted out for at least a year. Also, I've listened back to the Cabana podcasts a bunch of times over the years. In the 2nd one, Punk made it very clear he waited until he could legally discuss his WWE exit before he did them. I'm sure Punk would have a lot to say right now, so it would be wise to legally protect AEW and individuals involved as much as legally possible. That said, I saw the All Out scrum this year where TK was asked about Punk's firing and no-compete clauses (if any), and he... made a face. Almost as if to say he didn't and Punk could pretty much go elsewhere right away. Meaning if WWE wanted him, they can sign him right now. I wouldn't put any stock in Nick Khan's recent non-answer. That was neither a yes or no. I don't think he would have said anything if he or anyone in WWE does want to sign Punk. As for Punk's relative silence on the whole thing right now? I believe regardless of anything else, he's keen to move on. He must know that his actions backstage at Wembley firmly put him in the wrong. Maybe he doesn't care. Like I said, maybe he's wanted to leave for over a year and was just giving TK the reason to actually cut him loose. He was going to go along with it while he was there, being the major focal point of Collision and such. In short, I think everyone involved, i.e. AEW and CM Punk, just want to move on. It was good for a while, until it wasn't. I just resent it had to be over f**king JUNGLE BOY, of all people. If Punk shows up at Survivor Series, or makes his return at the Royal Rumble, I'll watch. Because Punk is one of the few in wrestling I actually care about anymore, even now.

To be blunt, I think a lot of people, myself included, have realized just how dull CM Punk is if he can't do work-shooty bullshit and trot out the iconoclast tropes playbook. That shtick works a lot better in the WWE where there's 40 years of existence and corporatism to draw on compared to AEW.
I mean, yeah, Punk still knows how to be a heat magnet and knows how to slow things down and tell a story with the "kids", but you know who else does? Christian Cage, and I've heard nothing about him being the absolute dickhead asshole backstage that Punk is.

The worst I've ever heard about Christian is that he can be a smart ass, but even that was in the context of Lance Storm saying he's one of his best friends and it being pretty harmless.

I don't think it's a "gotten over" as much as "moved past."
AEW has had two fantastic shows since Punk was fired. Punk's been largely silent. Nick Hausman is a sad weiner people tune out.
