I know I’m in the minority, but this gimmick really jumped the shark when it went from “Toni lost the title and her mind” to “Toni Storm is a time traveler” or whatever the hell is going on. Getting the TCM dude for her entrance was pretty funny tho.

I actually full agree with you. I still really enjoy Timeless Toni but I was liking her more that she was going into this character and losing her mind. It added such a big depth piece to who she was becoming. I wanted her to see her lipstick get more smeared on her face each week or loss. Now she just seems to be this character without the losing her mind part.

And did she ever have a blowoff feud/match with the rest of the Outcasts?

We have more than enough "craaaazy" women on both the AEW and WWE roster, at least going full All About Eve is unique. And with that built in story, who will go over (and end the story) is clear as day.

They were always going the film noir/disgraced old time movie star route, there was never any chance, or point, of her just being vaguely "crazy", only surprise has been RJ hasn't turned up face down in a pool yet.

I laughed through her whole routine this week, she's absolutely smashed it in this role and the crowd seem to love her everywhere they go.

The wackiness is what I liked about the gimmick and have no problems with it being turned up to 11, and the addition of Luther is great, every star from the Golden Age needs a butler

I don't know if it was a technical glitch or not, but the camera going to monochrome when Toni hit her setup move was amazing.

And I still love the gimmick. If anything, I like it even more.

I have to admit Saraya played a big part in grounding it early on. Talking about Toni throwing shoes at birds in the car park of whatever it was. The extra badly timed b&w bits mid match were also going too far.

Hopefully the new girl can eventually keep one foot back in reality as that story progresses.

I still like the gimmick and Toni plays it well, it just needs that grounding back.

The match with Skye was really good! This is still the most entertaining thing in AEW to me, even if I wouldn't have put the title back on her.

I think that they basically had to adapt the gimmick to the retro shtick, as much as I get that there'd be people who liked it less due to that. You can't give her the title AND act like her life has come undone. It's one or the other.

It's kind of like how Dr. Britt Baker got over by thinking everyone was out to get her and that she was dealing with all of this injustice and inconvenience, WCW Jericho-style, and then when she actually won the title, it kind of derailed that since you can't very well piss and moan all the time when you're on top, not without it losing its point.
