Alvarez stirring the pot a bit on his show but maybe making a good point - saying everyone he's spoken to in AEW is appalled that Toni's return match is happening on Rampage. It is really weird to have your top female star (sorry Mercedes) return after months away on what has been a leftovers show. Recently they have been treating Rampage like they want to save it, but it's dead at the end of the month. They could've made it a big attraction for next week's Dynamite in DC. It's sad to see how much of a full-blown anti-AEW grifter Alvarez has become. I hope it was worth it for him.

I won't spoil what happens on Collision but I will say there's definitely a storyline plan here behind the character switch and I think her appearing on Rampage is absolutely part of it. You can disagree with it once it plays out but I don't think this is a case of TK just going "shit we got a slot open for Rampage, can you go tonight Toni?"

I’m old enough to remember that Bryan Alvarez stopped reviewing Rampage on his radio shows because not enough important stuff happened on it.

Man nothing important happens on Rampage. What’s the point
AEW books important stuff on Rampage
Why are AEW wasting important stuff on Rampage?
Weirdly after having not watched Rampage since Collision debuted, this is the 2nd week in a row I’ll be watching……wonder if there is some relation?

I haven't read any spoilers but her reaction was very much like when she debuted so I am thinking she'll believe it's 2022.

I mean it's a show that's being cancelled in two weeks that is watched by a minuscule amount of people. There was a point in time where trying to put stuff that matters on Rampage to try to build it back up made sense but at this point the show should be coasting. That said I also don't really think a random Toni match is actually important or a big deal in the first place. It's cool that she's back definitely but like, she was gone three months, it isn't like she's been gone for ages. Seems weird to me that people are acting like it's a huge return match because she really hasn't been gone long enough for it to actually be one.

So last night was her 'debut'? Judging by comment of 'it's so good to be here' at end of the match
This is going to be quite a fun story isn't it

Yeah, I don't really care about the Rampage issue. I watch all 3 shows so doesn't bother me.
And also last nights match wasn't some must see important chapter of the Toni/Mariah storyline. It was more just an addendum to her Dynamite return

With it appearing to be an amnesia type gimmick I definitely think it has massive potential. Toni is super over now so can make doing her old gimmick work for a bit with the little teases of the Timeless character thrown in before the potential transformation begins again. Was definitely too quick to judge her returning in her old gimmick, I didn't think the Timeless stuff had got old at all but doing something to freshen things up doesn't feel like a bad idea at all. Going to be a fun time leading up to Grand Slam.

I don't think Bryan is a grifter so much as he's a bit reactionary. He also sometimes jumps to odd conclusions.

Bryan's been frustrated by a bunch of various AEW issues which I think just spilled over onto the Toni match (somewhat unfairly).

Well, "charcuterie board receivers" is probably too long a phrase to use, even if that is something that has happened before.

Feel like the thread title really needs to be changed to Toni Storm is All Elite.

That was so great that Toni Storm finally got to meet Schiavone in person tonight. Very wholesome and heart-warming.
