Toni is my favorite in AEW right now but Shida is basically in Asuka territory now of having multiple title reigns but never actually being the top booking priority during any of them. 1st reign Britt got all the TV time. 2nd reign it was The Outcasts. This one was Timeless Toni clearly the main focus even before getting the title.

I am not feeling too bad for Shida. Like, sure, she probably could have been champion longer, but her first reign is probably going to be the longest women's title reign ever barring some really extreme circumstances, and her combined reign time will also likely stand for a while. She could be doing a whole lot worse.

Nah, she's not Asuka was never booked like a threat as a champion, Shida was every time If you want to have issues with her storylines that's one thing, but Asuka's problem is she was never portrayed as a threat. Shida is, and she always feels like a top woman in the division no matter what you think of her lack of storyline Also it's really not fair because Timeless Toni Storm would have overshadowed ANYONE, that gimmick is white hot. |

Shida to me kind of exists in this space of, "She's very good, I enjoy watching her, don't really need her to be the focus of anything," so I'm kind of fine with the fact that while she's gotten her flowers it's never really been in a super prominent way.

Saraya didn't have it long, and probably will never achieve it again, so it seemed to basically just be TK giving her a feel-good moment for her return from seeming retirement and acknowledgment for her career. It was harmless on that front. |

If we don't get a ceremony to celebrate winning the title where her tearful speech goes on for minutes and minutes (probably through an ad) like the worst Oscar speech, then what are we doing? Play her music to try and stop her but she just keeps going.
