Some of the posting in here is way over the top. Let's stop psychoanalyzing the man. The dude is just posting on Twitter. Think of where that falls in the grand scheme of crazy shit to happen in wrestling. I mean even just taking what he's saying at face value, he's three days after doing a good rating on an abnormal night marking the anniversary of his mom having a near-death experience by talking about how WWE is out to get him by interfering with his contracts, even though he just conveniently managed to work out a deal to bring in Copeland 24 hours after his WWE contract expired with creative plans already in place. He isn't coming off as hinged here. Copeland said his WWE contract expired earlier, IIRC it was September 21.

When TK, the social media savvy 41 year old businessman, willingly brings up what his mom went through after all of what he's said these past few days fully knowing how people are...nah I'm not going to say we are being too hard on him. He's either doing too much and needs to put down his phone or too stupid to realize that this will feed the trolls and have them insult his mom.
I'm saying he ain't dumb, he's just doing too much. f*** the trolls and the assholes first and foremost but I'm not gonna act like he's absolved of everything. You're not dumb and you know how this works.
Don't. Feed. The. Trolls.

But...but he's the GOOD GUY! In comparison to all the other owners of major wrestling companies, yes, TK is in fact a good guy. None of his tweets are changing that. Tribalism in wrestling was happening long before TK and AEW existed. The guy could go radio silent and hire someone else to run the company, yet none of the tribalism is going to change. I don't want to be that guy, but I have to point out that this whole exchange smacks of pots and kettles and is a perfect example of how Tony Khan is not, in fact, the main reason for tribalism between wrestling fans.

What would help is if AEW had a separate, much better, official spokesperson. Been saying it for years now, really. Cody pseudo-filled that role for a bit.

Man needs a break from social media.
Hell, many wrestlers, past and present, all companies, need to take a break from social media.
To para-quote a hated person here, "I'm with children here."
EDIT: This type thing should be on the spectrum. Full Twitter meltdown Tony Khan vs. eating shit everyday circa 2005-2015 era John Cena.

Tony Khan being the source of tribalism is the wildest take in this whole thread. I’m sorry, what? There’s wrestling personalities who currently have their whole podcast business dedicated to fueling this kind of thing, and TK is somehow the main reason?!

They miss Cody horribly as he was that guy who could put the corporate bullshit spin on things and be that Cena-esque face of the company Bucks, Omega etc can't bring that quality. You got Danielson and Copeland but I doubt they want to be pushed into that public role

I don't think you can even slightly put the blame for all the tribalism on TK, it's just human nature to argue over petty bullshit like this and some people just cannot handle the idea of alternative products existing. Before AEW was anything more than a rumor there were already people declaring it needed to go out of business, nothing he can say or do is going to change those idiots' minds. I guess I'm just one of those guys who doesn't worship any billionaire. That and his supporters make me enjoy AEW less, like Vince's antics and the people who still bow to him do with WWE.

You think this is insane you should see how people still defend Vince McMahon. And most people here, myself included, didn't think that last tweet from him was necessary, because as you said, the night was fine. I get what he was going for with "Two ratings streaks came to an end" and then he was cheeky with it being Cena and Taker, but people I think just wanna move on from this, it's not fun to discuss anymore at this point. I do not think he was making a joke about some type of NXT/AEW streak ending which you keep saying. He says right off the bat he’s talking about “decades-long” streaks. This is my bad actually yeah, I re-read it and saw "legendary streaks". I thought he was correlating it to AEW vs NXT head to head streaks ending at first, which would have made sense to be fair lol

If you had WWE Troll accounts bombarding you every day to the point you couldn't talk about your Mother's near death experience without them trying to make it about competition, yeah, I'd be pissed too
He didn't say he hated WWE fans, he hated the exact type of people we ALL hate here, the people who have no f***ing life and actively try and get his show cancelled through petty bullshit
This isn't about the ratings in the moment when they attack a very personal post of his and it's f***ed up. If HHH or Shawn tweeted about their parents and AEW Stan Trolls did the same shit, it'd be just as uncalled for
Tribalism is dogshit and it actively hurts either product when it goes too far.

TK desperately needs an old head helping him out, the guy’s not only in charge of booking for 3 AEW weekly TV shows and PPVs, 1 ROH show and PPVs but also has to juggle his roles at Fulham and with the Jags. Even Vince didn’t go that hard with both the WBF and the original XFL

Really, in the grand scheme of things, the issue is less with what TK is tweeting or why he's tweeting it, and more with the position that he holds.
Generally speaking, I find TK's clear passion for professional wrestling and passion for his company endearing. But, when you're the CEO of an international company everything you do and say is going to be hyperscrutinized. He needs to take a step back here not because he's "wrong," much less that the E-drones are "right," but because him directly engaging with faceless trolls on Twitter is unbecoming of a company CEO.
Tony Khan is uniquely situated to stick it to tribalistic asshole WWE fans by simply continuing to grow his company in the coming decades and challenging WWE's stranglehold on the global pro wrestling market. Actions speak louder than words, here.

Lol, so we're not allowed to think this is stupid because it's not the worst thing a promoter has done? sure, it isn't the worst thing a promoter has done, but it doesn't change the fact that it's embarrassing
This man is 41 years old acting like a 10 year old who just lost a game of Call Of Duty on Xbox Live, all over something sane people would have moved on from in like 2 minutes, he's making a fool out of himself, he's taking shots at people who some of his employees are friends with, one of those who he just signed, this guy needs to log off, for his sake, because this is just sad

People that are mocking or making light of his mom’s illness are scum. But the one “making it about competition” was Khan himself, as he wrote about his mom and then immediately went into WWE contract tampering in the next sentence.
