But the multiverse is still a thing though right? Right?
the Loki documentary is lying to me otherwise.

The Mandela Effect is not a real thing. There's no such thing as parallel universes. You just misremembered something from your childhood. There's nothing special or unique about that. I, too, like to ruin everyone's fun. (Seriously, though, it is kind of annoying when people push "Mandela Effect" stuff.)

I think with the time cop ability to pop up at any point in time he wants means he could do both. bloody time travellers, and their "oh look i can be anywhere, everywhere and do anything i want" attitude.

Weird, saw two topics on entirely different forums with the exact same name and opening post.

I'm really curious what they are going to call the Mandela Effect 20 years from now when you can already see a dozen different versions of today's history and they all are completely incompatible with each other.
It's kinda the same thing just with more... bullshittery and "realness".

The Mandela Effect: Because loud people on the internet with an unearned level of self confidence can't possibly just be wrong, they have to be special.

My first grade teacher taught us what a cornucopia was by telling us, "It's the thing on the Fruit of the Loom logo," and we all knew exactly what she was talking about. That's the one that will always get me, I DISTINCTLY remember that, and it's such a mundane trivial thing to remember that it's too weird to be "imagined". And when I see the Cornucopia edit it's exactly what it looked like to me, I never remember there being just fruit.

It is definitely the weirdiest one.

Shouldn't it be called the Biko Effect?

As a concept, I find the Mandela Effect quite fun: the idea that enough of us misremember the exact same thing in the exact same way as to create a social schism in reality. A mondegreen for things that aren't music. That being said, making Nelson Mandela the face of it just makes everybody look either uninformed or just unintelligent. That's the one that will always get me, I DISTINCTLY remember that, and it's such a mundane trivial thing to remember that it's too weird to be "imagined". And when I see the Cornucopia edit it's exactly what it looked like to me, I never remember there being just fruit. This is why it should be Fruit of the Loom effect. It is definitely the weirdiest one. Ditto it being renamed the Fruit of the Loom Effect. Or, better still, the Cornucopia Effect, where your brain does a sort of autocorrect and puts something that isn't there where it feels it should be, like the cornucopia behind the titular fruit of the loom.

Why do people act like the term "Mandela effect" refers specifically to the fringe parallel universes theory?
