When Big E was the Money in the Bank holder, he went to Smackdown and stood face to face with Roman. Paul Heyman told Big E to back down from challenging Roman and challenge Lashley instead because Heyman said Big E could never beat Roman.
So the following week, Big E did just that. He cashed in on Lashley after Heyman pretty much said, you are good enough to beat Lashley but you aren't good enough to beat Roman.
Do you feel that was a big mistake that as a babyface, Big E was stuck being the guy who couldn't beat Roman?

Vince can never remember if he's in the middle of boosting someone or emasculating them.

Absolutely, especially given they subsequently had his title reign kick off with Roman beating him three times in rapid succession just so you knew damn sure he wasn't on his level.

Imagine Stone Cold and Rock coming into their own in 2023. Austin would be the biggest loser bitch who would run up to Dwayne and lose over and over. Then they'd stick Austin on RAW, give him a compensatory title they made just for him, and then he'd lose to Rock for the next two Manias before finally winning the third match even though Rock kicked out at 3.1 and had his foot under the rope and shoulder in the air the whole time.

Nah, that wasn't the point of Big E challenging Lashley. He did it because Lashley had been destroying Kofi and Woods for months. It was less about his own pride but more about his boys and riding for em.

I legit can't believe I saw a comment recently that Roman hasn't buried anyone in this title reign when shit like the Big E burial happened regularly (can't speak for now but by the sound of things instead of burials he just doesn't show up anymore).

Yeah, he unfortunately became Big C that night, coward.
What a shame, because Big E's title run had some potential in it.

Which is fine, and frankly speaking, I am MUCH happier Big E beat Lashley than Roman, but if that's the case, don't even do that shit with Roman. Keep it simple.

Do you feel that was a big mistake that as a babyface, Big E was stuck being the guy who couldn't beat Roman? Yes, and to add to that, Big E won the title off Lashley with a bitch cash in instead of calling his shot.
