Showings actually started at 8 PM tonight. Oh good. Disney can start counting its Christmas bonuses, Depp can get more cash to fund his giant French castle, with gator-filled moats, Knightly can further fund her experiments in how to be sickeningly thin without dying, and Bloom can buy more acting lessons.* *=Thats a cheap shot. He actually did act good in PIRATES 2 and even in Ridley Scott's KINGDOM OF HEAVEN (Director's Cut)...but people like a cheap laugh. I am a surrogate clown.

Maybe Orlando could buy some barbells or something, so he'll no longer be the nambiest of namby-pambies.

It was very good. Better than 2 and probably better than 1.
There was tons of storylines but they all came together.
And they did the primetime showings with Shrek last week also. I guess so that kids can go.
My theater was very much into it. Fun atmosphere.
Here's to Pirates 4 if they make it (they probably will).

Definitely fun, though long and involving, occassionally TOO much...but still worthwhile.
Pirates 1 is still the best (it's just the PERFECT fun adventure movie), but this was cool, and did not make me regret spending my hard earned pay.

I was going to go last night, but I ended up hanging with a bud instead. It's definitely in my plans for this weekend, though. Four day weekend, one of them days is going to involve Pirates. I don't care what the critics say.

The movie was amazing; even though I sat in the very first row.

To preface, I thought the first was pretty good and the second was lackluster.
That being said, it's about equivalent to Spiderman 3 to me. Inferior to the others and held together by special effects and promises of much hype characters (Venom for Spidey, Keith Richards and others for Pirates). There were some amazing action scenes, but a lot of missed oppurtunities. Geoffrey Rush was extremely good, but Johnny Depp will get all the accolades.
In the end, it felt like there was way too much going on and you had to check out and just enjoy the visuals for big portions of the movie as the plot would inevitably bog you down. If you're looking for a deep flick or even anything above a popcorn flick, I can't say this is the film to go see. It's a spectacle to see, but only due to eye candy, not the actual plot or story itself.

The movie was amazing; even though I sat in the very first row. i was in the third. my neck is sore, and i dozed off a few times because it was long and dragging, but still a good movie.
