All i know is Brian Kendrick should have a job then...I will take a stoner conspiracy guy over the sexpest any day i wouldn't even put that energy into the universe. one of the things that is tripping me out is that if he was fine with signing this dude to several years, what is keeping him from signing marty or some other shithead? this is just nonsensical trash and f*** tony for doing this |

but why?
outside of the cordyceps based energy drink (zombification results may vary), what does flair offer aew? he's physically knackered to the point of him being a televised death, a walking lawsuit waiting to happen (sexual assault, fraud, physical assault.)... sure he can bring decades of wrestling experiences to pass on to younger stars but so can any of the other veterans backstage that were already there.
there's little to no upside of bringing him in other than to say you did.

TK and AEW wont be paying anything to Flair if we go what Fightful said with that drinking company covering his salary.
The issue isn't financial though...Khan can cover that and the company is private...The issue is the image hit AEW likely will be paying for.
Worse than what Punk did in the last 2 years?
Flair appearances from now could be occasionally (He wasnt on Dynamite last night) post Revolution 2024 he could be off tv like Jake Roberts.

SRS said last week the locker room doesnt care about what the people online think of Flair(they are fine with him being in the locker room).
I think TK wants Ric just to try to get Charlotte next year, but anyways with the reaction Rics signing has caused I wouldnt be shocked if he is barely on tv ala Jake Roberts.

The difference is one is a legend and one is not, that's why Flair is getting a pass. I mean, Kendrick also spewed a bunch of Holocaust denial bullshit on the record in a shoot, so there's that. Yeah, I think we should be wary of comparing one person with a checkered past to another, or trying to quantify who is "worse." That's exactly why TK looks like a tool for hiring Ric Flair. If he hadn't constantly sniped WWE for associating with problematic people, then I would be just kind of rolling my eyes at this and resigning myself to changing the channel when Flair is on. But, because he did snipe at WWE and then turn around and hire one of the most problematic people, I think this is probably the most deserving of criticism thing TK has ever done. |

What the hell is Tony thinking signing up Ric Flair to a multi year deal? Even if Ric was doing this for free, it would still feel like Tony was getting ripped off.

He's a shit manager, we've tried that. He could be a "commissioner" or some other shit, but if you need a respected old man to come out once every few months... STING STILL EXISTS. Hell, Sting as a babyface authority figure might be the only authority figure I ever want to see again.
I just don't see what this brings, other than TK buying Ric Flair to give Hunter the finger.
