Flair's signed a multi-year deal and Woo Energy is now the official energy drink of AEW.

I absolutely do not like this. At all.
Just thinking about it, Tony won't be able to resist letting him get into the ring. And I don't care if it's Flair and 15 guys vs A mannequin: letting him wrestle, even to do a single damn move, is negligent.

F***. Not a fan of this either. Like, I get bringing him in for Sting but MULTI YEAR? Like, dude can barely talk without slurring really noticeably, so you can't even have him manage people really. So you have to shill his energy drink now and get what in return?

I figured he would be around through Sting's departure next year but a multi-year plan? Yeah I don't know about that.
I got a feeling that he's going to try for one more match (or more).

I just don't get the return of value here. Is he coaching? Doing Gorilla? Managing? I'm just struggling to see where he brings value at this point. Dude hasn't just lost his fastball, dude can't even get the ball to the plate at this point.

At least we have our new WCW/Surge esque connection. Surge was good. I suspect Wooooo Energy is trash.

Man, like even if you take the allegations aside--and there's not a strongly compelling reason to ignore the allegations and everything--the dude was such a monster of goodwill destruction that WWE spent six to seven figures saving him from himself and he still tried to trademark f*** them like a carny and complain about them. He's untrustworthy and likely to find some way to bring more shit down on AEW somehow, and even treating him like a charity case is begging for him to f*** them over. Why? WHY?

Can see zero reason for this beyond Tony being a mark. Awful person and he basically has absolutely nothing to contribute as a performer.

People can and likely should criticize AEW for bringing in someone like Ric given the previous allegations against him. Society writ large has moved on unfortunately so it likely won't affect them business wise but that shouldn't have to be the calculation. But I will say that AEW has previously used or brought in a ton of older legends who have problematic pasts (Tyson, Tully, Jake, Hammer) so this isn't new or a sign to me that AEW is changing. Perhaps people see the past through rose colored glasses but the promotion has always been like any other company, bringing in some folks that make you wince. But you can still be upset by it even if it's what you might expect out of wrestling.
