Oh cool so he's there so thath is energy drink company can pay most of his salary cool that's a totally valid and great idea and not just money laundering that's being made our problem.

If he was used similar to how Tully (who was great) was, I could see it working. I suspect though he'll very quickly outstay his welcome. Flair doesn't want to be ringside as a manager or coach, he wants to be in the ring with the spotlight on him

Of note, from Fightful: "The press release provided by AEW mentioned Flair's Woooooo! Energy drink. Sources close to Flair told Fightful that the deal was very similar to that of Randy Savage's to WCW in the mid 1990s, where part of getting Flair was also procuring a deal with the energy drink that would cover a significant portion, if not all of Flair's salary in All Elite Wrestling." Fightful also suggests they see a lot of potential in action figures, merch, etc. Which, eh, maybe so, but it's still not a good look. Alternately, don't employ him and you won't have to give him any salary.

From the press release: Here’s hoping no one has to actually drink it on camera and pretend to like it. Wooo! this tastes like old man sperm! wooo!

I’m not as hard on TK as many others are. But dude, doing this in the wake of what you tweeted about Vince is not a good look frankly.

Has anyone drank it? Energy drinks usually taste pretty bad to begin with, but I wonder if this one is on par, better, or somehow even worse.

To show how long I've been a wrestling fan...I don't even care they signed him.

f*** me how depressing is this
I cannot believe I was literally in the middle of typing something in another thread about how it's kind of fair that the stupid WWE lite decisions this company makes get receved with so much hostility, only to delete it and just move on and THIS IS THE FIRST THING I SEE

There's so many layers of "nope" to this.
1) Tony keeps barrelling down the path to recreating WCW(not good) 2) Tony will probably likely let Flair wrestle again(also not good) 3) Tony is paying YET ANOTHER SEX PEST(SUUUUUUUUUUUUPER NOT GOOD)

Not that I would have hired him (or like I have the money to do so anyhow) but there's gotta be some way to get value out of him.
Their best bet would be bringing back "Flair For The Gold" interview show (Pre-recorded and edited)
Most importantly Keep him FAR away from the ring.
Also kinda presumptuous of them to assume Flair has multiple years left.

Couldn't they have just paid him to stay away?

As others have said, Tony looks like a huge knob throwing shade at Vince and then not only bringing in Flair, but giving him a MULTI-YEAR deal

Man this is the long game for Tony to poach Charlotte. If that was the actual plan I wouldn't even be mad.

I don't see it ending well, tbh. I assume he's going to do something dumb and lose the sponsorship, the drink will tank, etc.

there's gotta be some way to get value out of him. I would say hold him upside down and shake his pockets out but it's ric flair so you'll be getting IOUs and a mint

This is brutal. I was sort of alright with it, I guess, as a short-term thing as part of Sting's send off, but it's just not justifiable to hire 74-year-old Ric Flair to a multiyear contract. On top of his (extremely serious) out of the ring issues, he's an old man who really offers nothing to the show long-term.
And it's just undeniable that TK just waltzed into a house made of the most brittle glass in the world and started chucking boulders by doing this. It's indefensible, really.
