Man this is the long game for Tony to poach Charlotte. If that was the actual plan I wouldn't even be mad. It's not confirmed, but on Madusa's podcast in the last 7 days or so she said Charlotte just signed a new five year deal. If that's the case, I don't think there's a chance she goes to AEW. I know Madusa's not SRS or Meltzer or anything, but it seemed oddly specific she'd know that.

Tony saw that he wasn't gonna win biggest bitch of 2023 and was like "not today buster" and signed Ric Flair to lock it down for himself

I know AEW has generally been great at featuring veterans and getting the most out of them while mentoring the younger generation, but at one point does there become too many of these legends on TV (regardless of how good they still are) on a weekly basis that you start to affect the overall feeling people have about your company as a whole? AEW might be nearing that point with Flair, Sting (who has been amazing), Jarrett (also been great), Show, Jericho, Edge, Christian, the Hardy Boys, Billy Gunn, Dustin (though he’s lesser used than the others). If they were all being used and beating the young guys on the regular, I think it'd be a valid point, but 99% of the guys you mentioned are used to either put over the young talent or they're associated with the young talent in a way where they bolster their acts and don't hinder things. Big Show's barely been used, Sting and Jarrett have had great runs, Jericho carried much of the early AEW load, the Hardyz are there to just kind of lose and Daddy Ass is super popular. I agree with that. My point was that despite how well each individually may be used, does there become a saturation point where there’s too many of these types present weekly on TV that it alters the perception of the company that fans have?

I just don't see an upside. And not to be morbid but like, he's 74 with a recent history of serious health issues. There's actually a chance he actually dies of natural causes before the deal is up, depending on length

If the deal is as fightful says, TK has signed a sponsorship deal with the only benefit being a 74 year old man who adds nothing.

So the pitch too good to pass up was “plug our drink and you get to use Ric Flair on TV at a reduced price for multiple years”?

Said it before and I'll say it again.
Randy Orton was a goddamn prophet when he said that Tony Khan is Jacksonville Dixie. AEW isn't in a death spiral at the moment but it's painfully clear Tony is unintentionally steering it that way.

I mean, maybe, but I don't think we're there yet. AEW arguably may have too much talent under contract but I don't think the spots that the legends are taking up would logically be filled by the younger guys, and not all these guys are on TV every week.

If Tony wanted an energy drink sponsorship so bad he should've dipped into whatever sorcery it took to get a Rich Energy deal so we could all at least watch the trash fire over here in wrestleland that all my racing friends have been enjoying so much

Okay, so, I could understand bringing Flair in for a short-term, part-time deal as part of Sting's retirement run - he's a lecherous old mummy but he was an integral part of Sting's rise to stardom. I wouldn't have been thrilled with it but I would understand.
But what value can Ric Flair possibly bring to a wrestling company in this day and age that you sign him to a multi-year deal and agree to pimp out his energy drink? Does TK think he's gonna be able to poach all the lapsed wrestling fans who stopped watching when WCW folded?
Like, "Here's The Nature Boy! Just as you remember him. Only it's been 22 years since WCW went under, and he's 74 years old and doesn't look a day over 80, and he can barely promo, and he legitimately runs a risk of dying if he takes a bump. Watch him hawk a drink that probably tastes like berry-flavored piss. Woooo!"
Just, baffling. Absolutely baffling.

They’ll be fine overall, their ratings and attendance numbers are just too vastly superior to TNA to go that route any time soon. And they’re lined up for a pretty big media rights deal with WBD in the next 14 months.
