Raw's Women's division is sorta a mess right now. Becky & Rhea are out right now. That just leaves Lyra as the only credible Face on Raw. And while Raw may be Heel central, none of those Heels really have been built up as credible threats, especially with Damage Ctrl's recent losing streak. So, in that regard, Raw seems to be lacking on both ends with the Faces and Heels. Smackdown has Bayley, Bianca, Jade and Naomi on the Face side, while also having Tiffany and Nia on the Heel end with Blair on her way. Compare that to Raw.....and yeah......

Feels like IYO is gonna get a face turn.
Raw needs faces and Damage Control is a dead vehicle. May as well milk the last of the fuel from it by having IYO have a good match with KAIRI and whatever she can get out of Dakota. She can then move in to a Liv feud.
My understanding was KAIRI came back specifically cos she wanted to tag with Asuka, so having her in that role makes sense if that was the plan.

Her acting so unhinged and taking it out on the others in her group seems more likely to turn the others Face rather than the other way around. As for Liv, she'll probably defend against Lyra Valkyria for the title next and then around SummerSlam face off against Rhea Ripley as the mentions of Rhea and them making light of all the interactions between Liv and the other JD members(aside from Priest) has me feeling like her recovery is progressing very well and that she'll be back soon. |

I would normally agree, but audiences are chomping at the bit to cheer Iyo, and if she continues to work like she did during the QoTR tournament, it's going to be pretty much impossible to keep her heel. |

It's been a bad week for Kairi Sane. First she loses in minutes to a banged up and injured Lyra Valkyria, then IYO goes ballistic in the backstage area and now she learns that her connection with Tatum Paxley was just a passing fling.

Idk how many WWE videos get into that many dislikes but that seem's pretty notable though.

People are gonna handwave it away claiming that "likes and dislikes" don't matter, but it's something WWE pays close attention to, even if it "doesn't matter". And I feel like this is just a general frustration growing with Damage CTRL in general. They've been booked like absolute losers, and their fans are sick of being told to "just wait, things will get better for them" when they've been booked like losers for the past two years, never winning an actual feud and probably winning less than 10 matches clean total. It gets even worse because when Damage CTRL fans voice their complaints, they immediately get shouted down because "look at all you had", while those people ignore the bigger picture to begin with. You can be a world champion, but still booked like a complete loser (Iyo). And Damage CTRL are some of the strongest draws in the women's division right now when it comes to TV viewership (you know, the one metric WWE cares about the most). Maybe start treating them like actual stars instead of fodder for other women. Just look at the thread on reddit for a good indication of why Damage CTRL fans are so pissy about this. You see a significant amount of downplaying of unhappy fans, because "they are all just weebs", along with casual anti-asian sentiment. This is why WWE needs to do better with Asian talents, especially women. Because right now the overwhelming consensus among WWE diehards is "if you like Kairi or Iyo, you are a weeb and your opinion means nothing" and "girls like Kairi, Iyo, etc are not credible threats to women like Lyra, Bianca, etc". That kind of shit is being normalized, which is why you see Damage CTRL fans getting pissy. It doesn't help that there has been an utterly obscene amount of casual racism being thrown around regarding the Asian women in particular, and no one bothers to call it out, because its been so normalized. |

Edit: There are a lot of people complaining in the comments, too. And it comes as no surprise. IYO was the MVP of that tourney and quite frankly deserved to win it IMO and now Dmg Cntrl basically finds themself right back in the position they were with Bianca just single handedly getting beat by 1 woman , the only thing she has yet to do is beat them 1 on 3 which if history dictates isn't far off. And it is this continued pattern...IYO gets over with the audience and you would think a babyface turn would be in the cards as she gets more over but nope the rug gets pulled out and she remains a heel , it happened with Bayley and now here is IYO finding herself getting herself over again only to seemingly atleast in the moment be doubling down as a heel if that backstage tempertantrum was anything to go by and Dmg Cntrl remain the beatsticks of the division and is why a contingent are pissed as they are. |
