Probably, but barely. Kinda like how Bayley "cost" Kairi the match against Bianca. There was no way in any universe that Kairi looked like she was on her way to winning. Bayley came out, helped Kairi, and Kairi still lost.
I doubt the optics will be, "IYO would have won if not for Bayley" even if that's the story they will say. Their dedication to making Bianca look strong won't give a situation where it looks like Bianca is anywhere close to 'about to lose'. Which, I guess, plays into making Bayley the face coming out of this. The Joshi's will look like the unreasonable ones blaming her, when the 'reality' is they just sucked compared to Bianca all along.
Charlotte being hurt might now force them to change plans though. This story never seemed to have any sort of coherent plan (aside form their go to plan of make Bianca and Charlotte look strong). Now, they may have to adapt the not plan into a different not plan. IYO might make it to Wrestlemania as champion, which I never thought would happen.
Something just keeps nagging me about Bayley in this entire thing lately.
Like she seems sympathetic on the surface what with her apologizing to the rest of Dmg Cntrl constantly but this comes with her never obeying the simple order to stay in the back.
Like Bayley keeps doing the preverbial push and pull which would go against trying to make Bayley the babyface coming out of this because it almost is starting to feel like she is deliberately disobeying to see how far she push them before they snap on her idk how that is suppose to work out in Bayleys favor because if and when they do murder her....well she deserved it
Like no one can be sure about who is actually playing who here.
I said this already that the recent KAIRI match was everything bad about a Bianca match but THIS? this was exactly how it should always go...if she wins in the end fair enough but this IMO is the best match she has had this year easily and atleast off the top of my head the best match of that title run because of how beatable she actually looked and it was not simply her usual get her shit in match she often has.
And what to say about IYO proving that when she is actually allowed to show out which seems so f***ing rare nowadays that IMO she is still the best womens wrestler in the world.

It's odd how damage control act so good towards each other yet they are heels who despise the fans but the likes of Charlotte and Becky are faces who would have no problem stabbing each other in the back and rarely get along. Heels make better friends and while they hate the fans,we the fans cant help but root for them,just like Rhea. I can't see how Bayley will turn face either as she's been dunking and hating on the fans for years now it wouldn't make sense for her to ever go back as a babyface.
So seems with Charlotte gone for 9 months...that things have changed atleast for now as Dmg Cntrl is as solid fully united front no tension at all this week.
They got a backstage promo laying out everyones roles....IYO is the top dog , Dakota is the mastermind ..ok , Kabuki Warriors are united once again and all goals are laid out by Bayley for what they want.

They are coming for everything.
So seems atleast for the foreseeable future that Charlotte going down has altered plans and the biggest is looking like Dmg Cntrls inevitable break up is on hold.
This looks to maybe be a blessing in disguise and they can actually build up Dmg Cntrl and not derail them for f*** sakes (yes I know Bianca is gonna derail this shit on the double taping tonight no doubt) and actually accomplish their goals.
Dmg Cntrl wins all the gold and dominates untill WWE can do the 4H which I think is where they were going untill Charlotte went down and then circle back to the original plan when she comes back.
Of course it all rests on HHH actually building Dmg Cntrl as the dominant faction they should be instead of getting goobed to hell an back by a single woman so we will see.

Maybe Bayley wins the Rumble, Damage CTRL assume she's facing Rhea but they start bullying/pressuring her about it so much that she ends up having a Batista thumbs down moment and chooses to face IYO.

I know they have been building toward Rhea vs Becky, but I'd very much prefer Bayley's dream comes true. I feel like Rhea vs Bayley and Becky vs IYO would be better matches. I know Rhea has already squashed Bayley, on her OP build toward last year's Mania, but a re-invigorated Rumble-winner Bayley can erase that from relevance. They don't play it up much, but Bayley is freakin' stronk too! She can have a hoss fest with Rhea, and Becky and IYO can bring the house down with a high energy back and fourth. (Plus, Bayley is a member of Judgment Day two team explodes for one!)
If Becky wins the Rumble and challenges Rhea, we will be left with a situation of "This is the important women's match, and this other women's match is the unimportant losers match".
I say, you have Wrestlemania where: Kabuki Warriors fulfill their part winning the tag titles. I hate that this would make Asuka's only Mania win a tag team match, but I think Asuka's days of a singles match at Wrestlemania are past IYO does her part by beating Becky clean as a whistle. Finally a star making match for IYO where she actually comes out looking like a champion.
Then, Bayley fails to beat Rhea, which causes Damage CTRL to turn on her.
Then you you build to have Bayley beat a more credible IYO. Or, see if you can do the Horses vs Damage CTRL with Damage CTRL finally looking strong enough for it to make sense.
A longshot for sure, since there is still a Bianca out there sucking up all the air in the room.
If WWE was gonna have a problem then having so many options on the table with Dmg Cntrl is the best one to have.
Now if only we could somehow get Bianca to stop resetting their progress back 400yrs every f***ing time she shows up than we might get somewhere.
I said this already once that promo aired that Bayleys plan IMO is the best path right now for Dmg Cntrl because they need wins but every single time they get something rolling (see previous statement) ESPECIALLY if WWE wants to do them Vs 4H down the line..maybe for WarGames since Charlotte would presumeably be back around summerslam.
And having Bayley and IYO holding the main titles with Kabuki Warriors as womens tag champs enables them to cross both brands without people questioning why the hell they are just allowed to...not that the brand split is some super strict enforced thing but meh.
And also Bayley IMO would do way more for the Raw women than Rhea who has been booked as well above that division outside of Becky as Bayley would have no issues putting the lines of Candice over and making her look like an actual viable title contender.
