Kairi Sane is in Perth, so maybe this angle will have some presence on the PPV after all.
(Should note that Shayna Baszler is there too, so it might just end up being a tag title defense between Asuka/Sane and Baszler/Stark as opposed to anything building the Sky/Bayley WM feud)

Haven't seen any confirmation that Zoey Stark is in Australia, but both Candice Lerae and Indi Hartwell are, so maybe we get a tag title match with the Kabuki Warrriors vs The Way to get the home country girl on the card.

This is absolutely an incredibly petty complaint on my part, and I'll catch some flak for it, but I'll say it anyways:
Shelton's comment in an interview talking about how Bayley needs her flowers absolutely rubbed me the wrong way tonight. I'm absolutely sick of Iyo being extremely marginalized in damn near every regard. A lot of it is on WWE's shoulders, but fans aren't helping matters either by going after Iyo. Bayley is the one getting all of the attention here, while Iyo may as well not exist in the eyes of fans. This has been a problem ever since she lost the NXT Women's Title. WWE massively downplayed how important Iyo was for the NXT Women's Division because they were desperate to get Raquel over (which surprise to no one, backfired massively), so they marginalized Iyo's reign. They won't give Iyo any sort of media interviews or stuff, despite the fact that WWE is pretty much the only athletic company in the world that still seems stuck in the mindset that ESL speakers are bad at interviews or would reflect poorly on the company. And it's absolutely something WWE is guilty of doing and I wish would be discussed more as a serious topic among fans (but they don't care, because there is absolutely anti-asian sentiment among wrestling fans).
The real kick in the balls is that people are sitting there praising Bayley for all the work she put in during the pandemic era, when Iyo put in just as much work, elevating a whole bunch of NXT women in the process. But nope, only Bayley gets the credit. I'm basically in the boat that if Iyo loses at Mania, she should look at leaving when her contract is up, because it's blatantly obvious fans don't respect her, or the effort she puts in. She's never talked about, and if she is, its just as a footnote to someone else, because WWE goes out of their way to marginalize pretty much all Japanese talent whenever they lose a feud. And WWE is too f***ing afraid to get behind her as a face of the company because English isn't her first language, even though that's literally not a problem in almost any other field (outside of maybe politics), athletic or not.

I have said it for awhile now that IYO has basically been relegated to a complete background character (and that is being generous) especially in this story...EVEN THOUGH SHE IS THE CHAMPION AND HAS THE MATCH AT MANIA.
It has went from DMg Cntrl turning on Bayley
To now about Dakota and Bayley
Like what exactly is IYO's place in this story? because it seem's about everyone else except her.
They have what 6 weeks to make IYO actually mean something in this otherwise whats the point of any of this they may as well just have her drop the title to some rando and phase her out.
And it will be even worse for her if her standing doesn't improve and she goes onto lose at Mania , at which point she definetly needs to not resign and go work for Rossy's new promotion when her deal is up next year.

Not petty at all.
I love Bayley, and Bayley does absolutely deserve her flowers.
But so does IYO.
As of right now this feud is still hinged on "Bayley is the good one because she speaks English without an accent". I thought it came off as racist the night it happened, and they have not added anything to change that. Not giving the match a spot at the kick-off was a slap in the face. Especially since it was the only established match.
The pandemic was the only time they let Asuka be the hero. They pushed her right back down to third wheel once Charlotte came back.
So I don't expect IYO to ever be allowed to be the hero. She's in a worse spot than Asuka, because Asuka at least had that extremely well received NXT run to give her cred. The main roster is also a lot more stacked with people WWE would push over IYO than it was with Asuka at the time. Asuka had the Horses ahead of her. IYO has 3 Horses, Bianca, Rhea, Tiffy, Jade, Nia, and maybe even Asuka, Naomi, Liv, and Raquel looked upon by WWE as being more important.
They have a few weeks. Be better, WWE, and fix this.

Yeah. Problem is I absolutely don't see them fixing this at all. The Bloodline stuff is absolutely going to dominate Smackdown. And WWE has a long history of treating ESL talents like shit, especially when it comes to Wrestlemania. I would have to go back and check the numbers, but I don't think a Japanese talent has won at Mania in over 20 years. Which should tell you how WWE feels about them. The saddest part is that fans don't bother to push back on it, and in fact, encourage it. Because every single year without fail, they find some reason to justify why Asian talents should lose. Last year it was because "Bianca is on the verge of setting the longest reigning women's champion record", in 2021 it was because "it was Rhea's time to shine", in 2020 it was because "Bliss Cross Applesauce deserves the win to bring smiles to peoples faces during the pandemic", etc etc.
Every year there are a not insignificant number of fans who make up some excuse on why Asian/Japanese talents shouldn't be allowed to go over at Mania. This year its "because Bayley deserves her flowers and to win a title on a major stage after all she's done for the division" (nevermind the fact that Iyo has done just as much, if not more for the company).

I can't find it but has WWE at all aknowledged IYO's 200's day title reign milestone? many others have but if not even WWE themselves hm would not be surprised and would be another in showing what WWE thinks of her.
I really hope Giulia tempers her expectations when she arrives because I am sure she is gonna fall into the same grand canyon of background that IYO has despite her talent.

They have not acknowledged it at all. At this point it absolutely feels like they are trying to massively downplay Iyo's reign. I remember Corey Graves talking about it on After The Bell at one point, about how he kept wanting to push the narrative that Iyo is being overlooked by WWE management and the WWE universe, but was told to stop when he brought it up on commentary. Because he brought it up a few times on commentary, just to be told to stop. I even remember when he made a remark about it on commentary awhile back. He said: "Iyo Sky has a massive chip on her shoulder, because she feels like she isn't being respected by WWE officials or the WWE universe, especially compared to women like Rhea Ripley, so she plans to show her worth", just for her to get pushed even further down the card.

I'm really looking forward to Bayley vs Iyo, not just because I'm one of the biggest Bayley marks on here, but it's two people who will clearly go out there with the attention to make the other one look great
thanks to Ishmeal for the signature, you are truly awesome

This is a big reason I am lookin forward to this match is because they are amogst the most selfless performers on the roster an easily sans Becky the 2 most selfless in the division.
They are gonna bump their asses off for eachother and let eachother just go all out.
Just hope they get the time and this isn't some 10min and go home...let them go to 20min bell to bell.
This is an honest man we can trust , he knows whats up.
JUSTICEFORDAKOTA!!
They are just being so blatant and extra at making Dakota look sus and that she's going to betray Bayley next week that I feel like it's not going to happen. Like they're just making it TOO obvious.
.....also Dakota's parting line about working to earn Bayley's trust back, has me thinking if the turn does happen.....it won't be next week......
