I think you all either need to enjoy the show or just turn it off. It’s not that serious.

I thought it was a great promo by both guys It was!
I don't know why folks bite on the business≠personal lines. He knows what he said. It's gotta be one of the lowest of the low-hanging fruit Punk can hang to troll a reaction from those he wants to get a rise out of.

I said it was one of many examples and I didn't like it and thought it was hypocritical I don't really care if it's a line to "own the trolls" it's a shit line and the dude's been one note since he came back in my opinion It wasn't meant to be deeper than that, I was expressing my thoughts on CM Punk since he'd come back, it's not as serious as some people tried to convey it. If you liked the promo there's also nothing wrong with that.

It was fine I wish they had gone a bit harder though. Obviously they can’t mention AEW but it wasn’t really alluded to much either. Punk’s line about being more of an American Dream than Cody was good though. A very heated face to face too.
Is this isn’t a feud by the end of the year WWE is leaving money on the table.

I thought it was great.
WWE tends to do these grand, overview generalizations when two big dudes meet other first time. They tried it with Cody and Roman (to mixed results, imo) here it worked like f***ing gangbusters.
Like HIM mentioned, you saw that real dark punk for the first time. And Cody’s continual determination was aces in the scheme of his WrestleMania story.
Lot of ppl on squaredcircle brought up that the crowd being torn was great. They were hyped for both and seemed hesitant to boo either. f***ing loved that Cody essentially called back to his last AEW promo. And the other side of the coin is true, with Punk. They really are really different sides of the same distorted coin.

I thought everything about the segment was great, both guys really delivered. I didn’t like Punk’s first promo when he came back but thought this and the Drew segment were really good. I’m intrigued by possible storyline with both down the road.

His Raw promo the night after Survivor Series was very weird and rushed but his one on Smackdown then the ones with Seth, Drew and Cody have been great. I loved the I'm the real American dream and I'm more punk than you lines.
That Smackdown promo and all the people he trash talked I still think basically spelled out all his big feuds for the next 12-18 months. Seth. Roman. Cody. KO. I think there were a couple others too. Just a question what order they do them in. Seth is obviously first then I think the next Summerslam and Mania will be Cody and Roman just not sure which one for which show. By the time they do the Roman match I expect Punk to be heel and Roman to be face with Heyman maybe back with Punk.
Punk and Cody facing off during the Rumble should be good. It'll be like the 2011 match with Orton and Cena crossing paths supposed to be this big confrontation only this time fans will actually treat it like a big deal and not pay it dust. I'm interested to see how the crowd reacts on Saturday. Last night they cheered them both basically equally then maybe sided with Cody more as the promo went on.

And again, WWE crowds have typically barely reacted to allusions to AEW.

And again, because of how everything went down with Punk, there may only be so much they can actually talk about.
The only thing I could see is the idea that Cody "put restrictions on himself" in AEW and now that he's unchained he's the company's biggest star while Punk kind of flamed out. Even then, I'm just not sure that the AEW references do much.
It took me a minute to warm up to the promo but by the end, that was a WrestleMania main event hype level moment. If they don't overexpose the guy, they could get a few good years out of Punk.

Lot of ppl on squaredcircle brought up that the crowd being torn was great. They were hyped for both and seemed hesitant to boo either. If Cody Rhodes and CM Punk are the final two in the Royal Rumble, that might be one of the first times we've seen a honest-to-goodness, true 50-50 crowd since, what, the WrestleMania XII Iron Man Match?

Batista and Cena at the end of the 05 Rumble. The Raw refs would raise Batista's arm and the Smackdown refs would raise Cena's arm to gauge the crowd and both were getting mega pops.

Dunno if you’re being serious but a lot of those in the last few years have felt forced or ineffective; This felt legit.

Kinda wish Raw had that segment as the final segment of the night, because the show's final image being Punk and Cody staring each other down nose-to-nose would've been a heck of a way to close out the final Raw before the Rumble.

TIL that something a character on TV says absolutely has to match their actions behind the scenes lol People too busy playing gotcha to sit back and just enjoy the show… Right?! Lol Ima go back to listening to R. Kelly, watching Roseanne, and getting my wrestling fix from Jim Cornette. That stretching it? Alright, then Ima go watch me some Lars Sullivan, Velveteen Dream, Matt Riddle and Hulk Hogan clips.
