This probably increases the chances of the World Heavyweight Championship match at Wrestlemania being a triple-threat match or even a four-way. Punk unfit and Rollins is coming off an injury so stick Priest/Sami/Finn/Drew or whichever 1-2 others you want in the match to give them time to breathe.
Probably have Priest cash in right after losing the match same as what Christian did at World's End.

Drew vs. Punk I guess happens at Australia if these guys aren't in the chamber.

At least Drew can hold the fort down and do the bulk of the work if needed.

He was great in the ring in the Collision Era . It's crazy how he regressed in such a short time Was he? I feel like some may be looking back at it with rose tinted glasses. Dude was in a lot of tag matches. And his best matches (Joe and dude at forbidden door) were with slower opponents. Here, he was with some of the best athletes in the company. Definitely gassed. Doesn’t help he looks bigger, which I get wanting to do, but going at a lighter weight might be better. Unless he can’t cause of his injuries or something. Yeah with those exceptions he's not been good in ring since his first injury in aew, I'm not sure reps will help. Maybe he can still rise to the occasion with the right opponent but I can't imagine him having regular good singles matches on tv these days. But on the flipside he was good when he first returned to aew so had the benefit of the doubt from those highs. He needs something similar in wwe ASAP to help re-establish himself.

The dude from Lake View did not look good AT ALL. He didn't look as bad as Batista did in the 2014 rumble, but that bar is near the floor. The 'mania match cannot be Rollins vs Punk one on one with Seth injury and Punk looking like a dude running on fumes, and it also cannot end night 1.

More and more I think what the plan is for Mania is for Seth to beat Punk, then Punk beats him down on Raw leading to a Priest cash-in, then they probably move them to separate shows in the draft to stall to get it to a rematch at next year's Mania. Between selling Punk as pissed off and desperate at the end of the Rumble and fuming after he lost it while Seth promised to walk out of Mania with the belt it felt like that's the payoff they're going to, that Seth was right about him all along.

Okay so I just finished the show, and in my notes I wrote "wow, Punk looked like shit..."
Yikes.
Bed head Punk is not working.

Word's spreading Punk might have injured his right tricep/elbow and gutted it out

Word's spreading Punk might have injured his right tricep/elbow and gutted it out Knew he was favoring that arm a lot. Hope it's not too serious.

I've got this horrible feeling that Seth beats Punk at Mania, and Punk completes the heel turn from "insincere heel masquerading as face" that he exposed himself as in the Rumble, to "openly selfish heel" in the Main Event by interfering on behalf of his pal Heyman to screw Cody, because he's mad that Cody eliminated him and robbed him of 'his spot' in the Main Event. The title stays on Roman AGAIN, possibly all the way til next Mania so they can do Roman/Rock at Mania, Cody feuds with Punk, and I completely give up on ever caring about the WWE Title again. It would be a great heel turn for Punk in theory but I don't wanna see it I just want the belt off Roman ASAP.

Word's spreading Punk might have injured his right tricep/elbow and gutted it out After he took that Future Shock from Drew he immediately clutched his arm. He crawled into the corner and you could see the refs checking on him. Hopefully for his sake it isn't too bad.

Looking back at it Punk's right elbow hit the mat when Drew did the Future Shock then the same elbow hit the corner of the ring when he fell out.

Word's spreading Punk might have injured his right tricep/elbow and gutted it out Silently leaning over to my 'Punk in AEW checklist' Injured almost immediately? Tick The fights are coming. Oh they're coming! (This is 100% a joke) Wrestlers: stop gutting injuries out. Have you seen how Mick Foley is these days, for f***'s sake.

I forget was that before or after someone tried to drag him backwards over the top rope, and he was noticeably struggling. That's when I noticed it, and thought he might have pulled something there.

Also bear in mind that the only other dudes returning were Andrade and Omos. It was a good thing for Punk that Sheamus, Rey and Braun didn't turn up, because it's very probable they would have turned up and look great in that match after months of not wrestling.

The thing with Punk that's becoming somewhat clear is that the idea of him has a bit more allure than the man himself. Not even getting into the personal issues of the past two years, it's just that between injuries, age, and cardio struggles, in ring wise there's some questions to be asked about his consistency. In a latter era AEW context where he could do six man tags with other talents who did the longer sections while he either sold or hit big spots? He generally looked great. But singles wise there's clear issue out there, and for every Wembley match with Joe, there's bouts like the Rumble where you're more concerned about his health than getting into his stuff.
He's still invaluable to have as part of the active roster, but if I were the WWE brass, I'd definitely be rethinking what kind of big singles matches to put him in without some smoke and mirrors to obfuscate his status.

I thought he was completely grand
If people think a one on one match between him and rollins wouldn't still hit like crack they're smoking fat blunts

I thought he was completely grand If people think a one on one match between him and rollins wouldn't still hit like crack they're smoking fat blunts Even ignoring Punk's status (and associated baggage) and Seth being injured I don't see a scenario in which I'd care about this match whatsoever. Seth's title run has been awful and he's had more interesting and more talented opponents than Punk that he's had completely forgettable matches with during it. Also like, I was way more into the Punk / MJF feud than I was ever going to be this, and even then I thought their first match (not seen the second) was wildly underwhelming.
