Well th roh tv title was an almost pointless title that most wanted to see gone of tv. I assume that's not the case with the IC title

As a Punk and Seth fan who was looking forward to their match, I'm really pretty bummed right now.

I wonder if Punk being straight edge is making it harder to fight injuries as he gets older. Long-term it will be better for his health so it's not exactly a bad thing but a lot of others in their 40s coming back from injuries are probably going for the short term benefit to their careers and using who knows what to help with their recovery and in some cases returning looking gassed to the gills which Punk obviously isn't.

I wouldn't do Seth v Gunther. I'd rather Gunther drop the IC title at Mania. And Gunther immediately dropping the IC then winning the world title feels like it wouldn't really feel much different. I'd rather he had a few months without a title rather than going from one title reign almost immediately to another. I'd have him drop the IC title at Mania then win a world title at the Berlin PPV this summer.

At this point I might just do a face v face match with Seth v either Jey or Sami. Make the weekend a living hell for Roman with one of his hated rivals winning the other world title one night then he drops his the next. You could maybe do a fatal 4 way/6 pack challenge too with some combination of Seth/Drew/Sami/Jey/Priest/Finn. In that case you wouldn't have a no. 1 contender chamber for that title at EC because it would be too similar. The chamber/s would then have to be for IYO's title or to determine Rhea's challenger.

Austin wrestling would depend on how he feels that day given his age and history of injuries, Cena had surgery on one arm then another after his match with Solo Sikoa, so those two are long shots at best.

I know it's kind of f***ed up to be laughing at the fact that somebody got injured, but given his past year and a half has consisted of trying to vindictively get a former friend replaced, getting hurt, coming back getting injured and going scorched earth on his co-workers and then physically assaulting them, trying to spend months playing the victim and trashing everybody in the company, coming back and completely tanking any remaining goodwill he might have had by starting another fist fight with a co-worker over a much more minor disagreement, getting fired and then returning to the company he'd spent the better part of 10 years shitting on every chance he got, sacrificing any remaining credibility he had with all but his most fervent supporters, only to once again get injured almost as soon as he comes back, it's so ridiculous you just have to laugh at it.

He’ll have to do the rehab either way, and I’d imagine he wants the money in his contract so he’ll come back.

I'm standing by my theory that half the reason Punk was such a dickass at All Out was from him refusing pain meds.

In over 30 years now of the Rumble winner getting a Mania title shot it's kind of crazy that the winner has never gotten injured and had to forfeit their title shot. Austin in 97 and Vince in 99 both didn't get the Mania title match but that was story related and not injury.

The law of averages would make you think it would have happened at least a couple of times and I guess they just dodged a bullet because Punk seemed to be most peoples pick to win the Rumble. They better wrap Cody in bubble wrap for the next 2 months.

Yeah, this sucks. The crowd was going to be electric for Punk vs. Seth.  And there’s just nothing else that will gave that kind of steam behind it.
