Given that Rey is healthy in time to return before Mania, do you think this will be a match on the card? Knowing WWE, they could possibly make this an Elimination Chamber match instead if they feel Santos isn't worthy of a singles mania match.

I don’t know anymore, with Santos being heel it seems less likely that he’ll get a big passing of the torch moment. At this point, I’d likely build to a Ret vs Dragon Lee lucha dream match and try and cement Dragon Lee as the new Hispanic hero

Has it been reported Rey's injury is minor and he's expected back soon or whether it's more serious?
If he's back him v Santos is definitely a big possibility. Maybe even something like Rey teaming with Bad Bunny or Dragon Lee v Santos and Dom.

I don't get the impression that WWE is pushing Dragon Lee to be the next lucha star on the level of Rey Mysterio. Case in point, on Dragon Lee's first Smackdown appearance, he was sitting front row. When he attempted to make the save for the LWO when they were taking a beatdown, security grabbed him and put him in a bearhug before he could cross the barricade. While this was not Shockmaster debut level of atrocious, it still made him look like a doofus. If they wanted to do a security pull apart, they could have at least given him some shine before being restrained.
Plus, after tonight, it seems clear that Dragon Lee is in that Ricochet jobber-to-the-stars role to have impressive matches, but ultimately used as an undercard babyface to help get the heels over.

Assuming Rey is back and healthy I'm assuming Santos is his Mania opponent yeah, unless it's Dom again but at the moment it seems to be Santos. Again, assuming Rey is healthy.

I see Rey, Carlito and Dragon Lee feuding with Santos, Garza and Humberto.

It could be drawn out till Mania depending on how long Rey is out.

Hoping this heel turn works for Santos because I just don’t care for him at the moment.

Didn't catch most of Survivor Series, when I made my post about this yesterday I had just kind of casually assumed that Dragon Lee beat Escobar. Otherwise why swap out Carlito. But, apparently I was quite mistaken
