Killing Joke Guitarist Geordie Walker passes away.

Sad news from the world of heavy music.

Kevin “Geordie” Walker, a founding member and guitarist of the post-punk band and goth rock pioneers Killing Joke, has died. Aside from Jaz Coleman, Walker was the only other sole constant member of Killing Joke until his death. His bandmates confirmed the news in a statement, revealing that he died following a stroke earlier today (November 26). Walker was 64.

Killing Joke were a highly original and intense band, and a lot of that was because of Geordie and his trademark guitar tone. He, and Killing Joke, will be missed.

Saw this first thing in the morning. Shitty news to wake up to. Killing Joke is the band that really got me into experimental/post-punk stuff. RIP, Geordie

This has hit me really hard just noe. I’ve been listening to Killing Joke non-stop for the past few years, whether relaxing or working out. I’ve hesrd every album of theirs, and watched tons of live performances.
