Someone here said those QTV segments were like Raw guest host era segments and it was so spot on. The only bright side was Harley

Maybe he’s just mad they turned down his idea to turn into wrestling rapper Q-Tip Marshall.

I have no doubt he was hugely important backstage but he massively dragged down Hobbs during his TNT title reign just when he was starting to get a decent push

I mean it sounds like he cared less about AEW becoming NJPW, and more that his cornball ass shit wasn’t making tv.

He doesn't agree with the direction AEW is going creatively but he isn't the only one. He just wants to wrestle on tv more

I actually liked QT I thought he did his job well he got an reaction from the audience and His last gimmick was good having the AAA title. The only companies I can see him signing with is NWA or TNA

I like QT because he's a local guy, but yeah, absolutely not a guy I see as "must be on TV" lol.

QT feels like a decently talented guy who has a definite place in the industry, but it's pretty firmly as a lower card heel who talks shit long enough for the actual stars to come out and squash him. He's not the sort of guy who feels fit to be pushed, or really even to be on TV for more than like five, ten minutes at a time. Like he's not awful at doing more than that, dull but not really actively bad at it, but he doesn't really have the presence or the skillset to be interesting for very long.

I think AEW's roster out grew QT. As good at his schtick as he was, not really needed on tv regularly now.
I'm interested where he goes now. I know he's highly rated backstage but you'd think WWE would have those roles covered already, in numbers. Unless it's Cody calling a favour

Hed more than likely Juno at a backstage position in the E, where he can pitch all the subpar ideas he has ready to go. Plus Cody

The thing about AEW becoming New Japan, even if it's now being said QT isn't citing that as a reason, is making my brain hurt to be honest. I thought it was becoming more like WWE, isn't that the current criticism? Especially after some of MJFs more overbooked matches lately. Like, I get that people have different opinions so you can have both statements being made by different crowds but the two things are SO contradictory I can't see how it works. I just can't really see the idea of it becoming more work rate based recently, I think they've upped the storytelling and character work more than anything when you look at Better Than You Bay Bay, The Devil, Timeless Toni, Roddy, Swerve/Hanger, everything to do with Christian etc. Obviously there's the C2 going on, so that's adding a work rate element for a few weeks but otherwise not really seeing it.
Or is the implication that they've noticed some push back to doing some new things and are going back to being work rate heavy going forward? Genuinely can't get my head round it otherwise.
AEW have always done goofy stuff, I've watched back so many old shows and there's silliness everywhere, in every year of the company, some good, some bad, as is the case with almost every wrestling company ever, that doesn't mean it's becoming WWE. Same way being work rate heavy, as they've always been given the sheer volume of amazing matches they've churned out, doesn't mean they're becoming NJPW. Tony Khan seems to be a fan of almost every promotion that's ever existed so I'd expect a flavour of all of them in his own wrestling company, and I feel like that's generally what we have with AEW.

Only thing New Japan has in common with that was if you've only watched or seen House of Torture matches

Basically from what Wrestling Purists said, QT thinks that AEW is putting too many matches out there with the hope they are great matches rather than putting a story behind it. That's where the New Japan line comes from. Not sure where he thinks that comes from (though I do think AEW has gone back to the get over in the ring mentality) but that's what the reasoning is there. But sounds more like he is giving reasons why he should be on tv

QT: "Put the title on me."
Tony Khan: "And then what?"
QT: "And then I beat everybody."

If he thinks WWE is going to turn him into a major star and champion, he needs to start checking the expiration date on his apples.

Does this mean that Aaron Solo is gone as well? Never saw any point with that guy except he was "Bayley's ex."
