I was checking out shopaew and to my excitement I saw that AEW had released 4 of their PPV's to buy. Unfortunately they are in DVD format and not BluRay. I understand that physical media is not popular anymore it seems but I still love buying my favorite movies and wrestling events. It is frustrating to have these new releases in a lesser quality picture format than what they could be in HD. Everyone I know that buys physical media will never buy DVD over BluRay. I am wondering why the choice would be DVD's? Are DVD's more popular still than BluRay? And I still bought all 4 in DVD because I have no option for Bluray

I think DVDs do still outsell Blu Ray.
WWE even stopped Blu Rays long ago.

WWE stopped producing them outside of Wrestlemania for that reason and AEW seems to now be testng the blu waters with 2018's All In, but unless you're a boutique label making a limited collectable blu ray to sell at a premium, it's a risky patent to invest in. When you see indy companies sell them, they're selling BD-Rs, which aren't actual blus but burned blu equivalents that are close enough but trick the players into thinking that they're blus and playing like blus. Releasing an actual blu is incredibly expensive.

Technically it's not AEW, but you can get the original All In as a Blu-ray. That's a pretty recent release as well, so maybe they're looking into it for the future? www.shopaew.com/all-in-2018-blu-ray.html

I was a little peeved when AEW discontinued their PPV DVDs from the shop. I was ready to buy some one time, only to find that the DVD section was removed.

I am not sure if anyone has checked ShopAEW but they are now selling blurays. Just today I saw you can buy All In London on Bluray. Woohoo. I ordered mine. I hope they go back and start re-releasing the old dvd's into bluray now. I also grabbed All Out 2023 on bluray as well. But I still have to say a big thumbs down to prowrestling tee's. How is it I have bought All Out on the 7th and it still has not even been shipped yet?

I'm a little surprised AEW doesn't have an official Amazon page, that's where I have bought all my wrestling DVDs/blurays

I just wish i could get every single aew ppv event on dvd, including the ones they delisted a while ago, but lack of money and suspicions on resellers with the delisted stuff means i might not have a chance, one can dream.

In the UK, I'm surprised that Freemantle haven't struck up a deal to release AEW DVD's.
Start with All In 2023 and they can follow the template that they did with WWE, release the PPV's and do best offs and most.....etc

I would love a bluray of The Best of AEW Dynamite The First Year. There are so many matches, promos and moments I want to relive.
I would also love some blurays of The Best of Kenny Omega, Hangman Page, Jon Moxley, Tag Team Wrestling, etc...
