They shouldn't try to, either. WCW at it's best was great. But AEW has had some fantastic moments in it's relatively short lifespan. It's more important for them to establish their own legacy, rather than try to top a long dead and buried company. Tony still has PTSD about later WCW. Dude seen some of best in wrestling(example TA vs. Tully, Rey vs. Eddie, DDP vs. Savage) and the worse(Russo's WCW). He's seen it all. |

AEW is cool, but it'll never top the Battle Dome invasion angle In my worthless opinion, AEW will never, ever come close to topping WCW in its prime. I totally would have said the same thing until I started watching the Reliving the War series on YouTube and realized that my fondness for WCW is pure nostalgia. It’s wild how bad it got, and how quickly. |
