I just impulse bought this: My unwatched pile is massive, but I’ve really been looking to have The Wizard handy on DVD for a while now. Having that and Matinee would be enough to justify the under $10 purchase alone, but there’s just so much cheesy 1980s/1990s cheesy goodness in this set

I liked The Wizard and Matinee, and haven't come anywhere near watching any of the others. Some of them, I had forgotten they even existed.

I liked The Wizard and Matinee, and haven't come anywhere near watching any of the others. Some of them, I had forgotten they even existed. Vinegar Syndrome did one of their ultra special editions for Cloak and Dagger. It’s supposed to be a cult classic, but I honestly don’t remember it. I know I’ve seen the trailers for King Ralph and Sgt. Bilko all over old VHS releases and such. I don’t know if I’ve ever bothered to watch those either. I remember the promotion for Ed when it came out, but I probably haven’t thought about it at all since then. Honestly, outside of the first two mentioned as well as Cloak and Dagger, I’m probably looking forward to Ghost Dad the most. I remember it’s supposed to be only ahead of Leonard Part 6 for bad Bill Cosby movies. And I love bad movies

Two of those movies are out-and-out terrible ("Cop and A Half" and "Ghost Dad", and GD was considered terrible BEFORE all the Cosby news came out).
"King Ralph" is a good movie for Goodman fans, otherwise it's OK.
I liked "Sgt. Bilko", I think it's bad but fun.
"Matinee" is a classic.
"Cloak & Dagger" is a heck of a lot of fun.
I know people like "The Wizard" but I'm not one of them.

Funny story about “Matinee”….one of my buddies dads was out having some beers and John Goodman came in and sat next to him while they were done filming one day. He bought Goodman a beer and he appreciated he wasn’t just treating him like a celebrity and shot the shit with him for a bit.

Cloak and Dagger is a great film.
The rest are a complete waste of time.

There is no way that any family says "GHOST DAD is our favorite movie".
And if there is I'm just going to assume they have serial killer DNA.

Matinee is the pick of the liter. The Wizard is fun bad cheese. The rest (aside from cloak and dagger which I have never seen but seems well regarded) could easily be avoided.

I'm pleasantly surprised to see Matinee is recognized. I thought I was the only person that's ever seen that movie.
There are enough solid movies in that collection to definitely make it worth it. The Wizard, SGT Bilko, definitely King Ralph. And I liked Cop And A Half.

For under $10? That’s a f***ing great collection. For $30-40 that’s a pretty damn good collection.
I used to buy movie packs for $10-15 that would be 6 DVD’s, with 2 facing outward that were popular, or at least reasonably known, movies and the other 4 sandwiched in the middle would be completely unknown dogshit

I own that set (with a different cover), though I still havent watched The Borrowers. King Ralph, Sgt. Bilko, The Wizard, Matinee (deserves a special edition dvd), and Cloak and Dagger are all worth owning it though.

I liked SGT. BILKO when I was 12 or so years old. Had it taped off TV and watched it pretty regularly.
I remember seeing KING RALPH at the drive-in when I was little and thought it was okay. I recently caught the very end of it on TV and was like "Oh Rose's mom from Doctor Who is in this?" and wanted to give it a rewatch, but haven't been able to.

I got a similar set with a few less films. Bilko and a few of the others are decent.

Bill Cosby...Ghost Molester.
Even though he's dead, you still can't escape him.

Borrowers is cute and Burt Reynolds’ charisma basically carries Cop And a 1/2. Don’t remember much about the Wizard, I liked Sgt. Bilko and Ghost Dad was just a horrible script even if The Nasty Pudding Man wasn’t starring in it.
