They both had individual gimmicks for a few months. Danny had a gothic gimmick while Doug was "The Bash Man". They both disappeared from TV after this until mid 2006 when they re-emerged as Paul Heyman's security in ECW. They were then released in early 2007. Danny didnt even make it a few months. One appearance on Heat and he was off TV. I think Doug made a few appearances that may have stretched over a few months. But not sure. Both new gimmicks made it into a game though. They gave so little of a crap about him they just had him entering with the standard heat graphics and the live camera feed on the tron instead of any of the promo footage they filmed, and then after that made him an actual tron with like 10 seconds of footage of the one match he had.

Didn’t Sandow atleast win the tag titles after? I don’t think Ted really did shit after the Legacy break up Sandow’s downfall was post Miz, not post Cody. Dude fell off hard after the Rhodes Scholars split, he got beat like a drum for the entire period he had the case then failed his cash in on John Cena. Dude was given the gimmick of stunt double because he had that downfall.

Got a bit of a weird one to example, as he was technically an also-ran even when he was champion with his partner.
Oliver Grey, first NXT Tag Team Champion along with the man then known as Adrian Neville. Got injured so he wasn't even in the match to lose the tag titles (he was replaced by Bo Dallas). When he came back from injury, he lost to Camacho. Last appeared in a battle royal for an NXT title shot, first one eliminated and by Brodus Clay...a match that aired after his release from the company.

Bart Gunn. The only thing he did was win Brawl 4 All, then lose in a shoot to a real fighter at Mania.

I'll never forget Tucker making it to WWE 2K22 in spite of being fired 11 months before the game came out and still being based on his Heavy Machinery face persona even though Otis was already updated to Alpha Academy. Not sure if it counts as a 'breakup' but I wanna throw in Paul London's name to the conversation. The Brian Kendrick got drafted to and had a nice little push on Smackdown that he (apparently) ruined by smoking a little too much weed. Then he eventually got fired and came back several years later and was a featured player on the D-show 205 live, getting some more action figure and video game appearances and even holding the purple lil guyz belt. Paul London... did a job to Lance Cade in dirty wrestling shoes with no kickpads and no wristbands and was never seen again. At least Tucker had an actual heel turn, I guess? Edit- Not sure why his dirty wrestling shoes and bare calves have stood with me for years, but I've made an amazing discovery. He wore this poverty attire 7 days prior in a squash to Chris Jericho as well. Perhaps I should change my username/gimmick to "Paul London's Dirty Wrestling Shoes Circa July 14, 2008-July 21, 2008" I live for these discoveries

1992 WWF Return 1995 WWF Return 2005 WWE Return 2006 WWE Return 2nd 2006 WWE Return 2007 WWE Return 2009 WWE Return So you are definitely right. They always had some sort of plan with him. When the mid card titles were at their lows in 2005, Jannetty winning the IC or US title could've worked. This guy was truly blessed. So this means he got fired twice in the same year TWICE. 1993 and 2006. You could say demons, but honestly, when you get 6-7 chances in your life where your employer brings you back and gives you a nice gig and you mess up? Yeah, it's on you. He didn’t get fired twice in 1993, he was fired the night after the 1993 Rumble, rehired round about May time, then stayed all the way through to the 1994 Royal Rumble, after which he disappeared off TV, which was more likely to do with the Chuck Austin case being heard, so he may not have even been fired.

Holy crap, completely forgot about him till I scrolled and saw this post. I remember this misspelled his name as Oliver Gray when he was a jobber. Also, I called him Oliver Nipples (because, haha, ‘All of her Nipples’ but also he legit had some big pepperonis). I also really liked the song “Faceless” that he used with Neville and was sad when they eventually switched Neville over to an instrumental stock theme for a few months before getting his CFO$ theme. Okay. Time to forget about Oliver Gray/Grey’s existence for another 9 years.
