The Bee Gees, for how big they were/are in the UK music scene were prone to having several of their own hits overshadowed by covers
Steps recorded a version of Tragedy for a BG tribute album and their own second album and, while the OG also hit number 1 in charts, made it so big for the routine alone that people forget it’s a cover
Boyzone recorded a cover of Words as the lead single to their second album and got it to number one in 96 when the original only got as high as 8th in 1968
911 and The Tavares both released a cover of More Than A Woman, the original never got released domestically but only made 39 on the Billboard charts, the Tavares version reached number 7 in the UK while 911 got it to number 2
Take That recorded How Deep Is Your Love as the final single of their first run, and got it to number 1 whereas the original only made number 3 (but did top the Billboard)

The Zutons version of Valerie straight up got erased out of relevance by the Mark Ronson and Amy Winehouse version, which is a shame because that one was mid. My favorite is still the Bruno Mars tribute.

What a disaster.

The Rascal Flatts version of "Life is a Highway" is more well known because of Cars however the original version by Tom Cochrane is better.
