Straight up face Jericho just doesn’t click at this stage of his career for me. This seems to be part of a cycle Jericho goes through in AEW - he gets refreshed with a face/heel turn and gimmick tweak, then gradually loses steam over the course of several months, then has a period where he's kinda unbearable, then gets refreshed with a face/heel turn and etc. We're currently in the "kinda unbearable" phase, which I assume means the Golden Jets are losing, Jericho turns heel on Kenny, and we get Alpha vs Omega 3 at Revolution.

Yeah, a Jericho heel turn with a new slant to his character would probably be best. For some reason, he comes off very lame as a face lately.

It was weird but it built up a scheduled match and made it clear the teams hate each other so at least it progressed things a bit. Match should be fun.

I had a feeling somebody was going to make a thread about it but I wonder if this happened in WWE would there be a thread about this segment🤔 Yea, prbly This seems to be part of a cycle Jericho goes through in AEW - he gets refreshed with a face/heel turn and gimmick tweak, then gradually loses steam over the course of several months, then has a period where he's kinda unbearable, then gets refreshed with a face/heel turn and etc. We're currently in the "kinda unbearable" phase, which I assume means the Golden Jets are losing, Jericho turns heel on Kenny, and we get Alpha vs Omega 3 at Revolution. Big takeaway from the thread (and the segment) is why is poor Kenny saddled with Jericho. I like Jericho, more than most, but he’s been out of gas since JAS character-wise. My big wonder coming out is, do you stick with the half-committed feeling of Starks and bill or switch to the meandering main event team of Kenny and Chris? I dunno what’s “better”, but Kenny should be on his own yo

Clearly something happened backstage when they first said Cash was injured and then Dave saying he wasnt injured.

But where does the news come from that it’s because FTR refused to job to the Bucks? Is that from Meltzer or SRS?

Last I remember hearing was that FTR had the idea to drop the belts to Ricky and Big Bill and then win them back but Tony decided not to give the belts back to FTR

Yeah Jericho has always been like this. His face runs fizzle out and get stale very easily. His initial run after returning in 2007 was terrible then he went heel and had maybe the greatest run of his career. In late 2015-early 2016 he was unbearable too. Trying to get rooty tooty fruity or whatever it was over as a catchphrase against New Day. Again a heel turn saved him and he went on to the list and KO stuff.

Jericho's one of my all time favorites and even I can't remember the last time he entertained me.

I couldn’t wait for the segment to be over. Man it dragged. Kenny took about 7 hours signing off.
The Sawft line was good though il give him that.

The Jericho cycle is so weird. He gets so over as a heel that people want to cheer him. But he's such a lousy face that people can't wait for him to turn back to a heel.
This is also some of the longest he's been an active performer without taking a break to recharge his drive in awhile. So maybe he's getting to that point again.
Though yeah, the SAWFT line was good. And it gave us an excuse to use the Enzo gif.

And it gave us an excuse to use the Enzo gif. It's kind of worrying how deep Jericho is in to just absolute garbage material and staleness now. He's always had a habit of letting his stuff live on too long and not moving on as gracefully as he should, but it's been so long of him non-stop on TV and mostly doing just kind of the same thing he did when he got to AEW with few meaningful changes. With a guy whose strength has been reinvention, it's tough not to wonder if he's lost that filter now and he's just locked in to this material because it's all he's got in him now.

Jericho and Omega have zero chemistry as a team. Both of them have been in some great tag teams (especially Jericho) but they just don't gel together at all. Hopefully the title match happens soon and they lose.

It is weird how bad Omega and Jericho are as partners considering some of the great matches they had as rivals.

Ricky and Bill tried their best to save this.
But Kenny honestly looked like he just wasn’t into the whole thing. And Jericho was, well Jericho.
