Potentially a late contender for match of the year happened on Rampage.

I feel like every week in modern wrestling I see something that has me like "wow I've never seen anyone pull that move off before," but this match had like twenty moments like that.

Best match ever on Rampage. Top ten match of the year.

I love the sheer joy in Schiavone's voice when he gets to call an awesome spot.
As long as he's been calling wrestling, it'd be really easy to jadedly go through the motions, but during good matches you can really tell he's happy to be there.

Very fun match. Lot of stuff in there I'd not seen before. Hopefully get the Trios titles on Top Flight soon. Make the trio belts like a workhorse high flyer division
Rampage has had some killer main events recently. The FTR vs Penta/Komander one the other week was also awesome.

Amazing match, Rampage has been phenomenal for a while now tbh, felt like it took a step up from that week they had Mistico show up, they've just done so much cool shit since then.

I’ve loved the rise of lucha outside Mexico this year (especially being lucky enough to see Vikingo in korakuen hall) and this was the perfect way to cap it off.

Schiavone and Michael Cole both managing to swiftly turn their legacies from “bored corporate schill” to “great announcer who genuinely loves calling wrestling” in the past few years has been a very welcome development.

I gotta watch that match again, I watched Rampage after Final Battle last night and was half asleep for this.

Maybe it's having a long break away from the grind of the business, but he has such a positive outlook on the business especially compared to his peers. No "back in my day" just "Holy shit this is amazing". He has such energy and enthusiasm it's like he's 20 years younger than he is.

He's been open about how, especially early on, he's not a moves name guy like Excalibur, but he has been trying to learn the names, the history, etc, and catch up on how things have changed since he'd been gone. I think it also just really comes across how much happier he is not working for someplace that was trying to "work the boys" constantly and giving him like zero idea of what the hell was happening, like in WCW towards the end.
