Between Survivor Series and the Royal Rumble, always just seems to be placeholder feuds that are just bridging the gap before the Mania build starts at the Rumble.
It really does not seem like the WWE is going to waste a major loss to Logan Paul, Gunther, or Roman before Mania, the tag team titles are not really involved in anything important and the two women's titles seem to only ever be treated well at Mania. So now we just live in this purgatory of placeholder feuds.

It's supposed to be a break for talent.

Since I started watching again in 2011, my interest has always been at its lowest around this time of year. But that said, at least things aren't Fall 2013 bad right now.

Honestly the company has gotten So predictable about WrestleMania that I'm always just waiting for it to be over so I can go back to being hopefully actually surprised for once.

It makes it moreso by dropping the December PPV. I'm going to my first WM in Philly, so I'm just counting down the days until real build up starts next month.

I'm not real big on the April to August stretch. I tend to just have better things to do than watch wrestling in the summer.

I have no doubt it's why AEW chose this time of year for the Continental Classic.

I think it’s typically a slow point but that the returns of Orton and Punk have made this stretch this year feel more exciting and important.
Plus, they’re building up some big matches to take place on Raw and Smackdown in the interim, like the Rollins-McIntyre world title match on Day 1, and the Orton-Knight-Styles triple threat for New Year’s Revolution.

December has always been a holdover month where nothing happens in wrestling. It's why I suspect that's why AEW is running the C2 right now, it's usually a dead month.

I find September to November to be more of a drag as they're too far to set major stuff up for Mania so it often just feels repetitive.

Sep-Oct is usually the worst period to me. This year in particular most PPVs felt like really big deals except Payback and Fastlane. It didn't help that there was this long streak of stadium or international shows so it felt like a bit of a comedown to go back to regular US arenas for PPVs.
Sometimes maybe May-July feels like the low point but that might have actually been the best period this year with Backlash in Puerto Rico, MITB in London and on TV the Roman/Uso and Cody/Brock stuff was outdrawing the Rumble-Mania season stuff which would normally be by far the high point of the year.
