If I was AEW I'd kinda softly turn Rampage into an all women's show. They kinda have put women's focus there, women have main evented a lot, sometimes it gets two women's matches. Collision should get more women's matches too, they've had some good matches there. I don't watch Rampage or Dynamite as much as I do Collison. But I've enjoyed the increased focus on the women. I guess my previous post was me just fearing the worst.

I can get it but they don't sign someone to a deal like that, debut them like that, and then never use them tbh I expect she's gonna be as used and focused as a top talent regardless of division because so far she's proving to be a live gate draw especially. over 1000 tickets to Big Business when she hinted at it, like 1200 tickets sold to next weeks show since she debuted too

Being AEW's version of rock or cena is a gigantic ask. If they're gonna do this, she's gonna have to main event every week and they have to give her the keys to the franchise Not being funny but neither Rock or Cena main evented Raw every week in their primes. Heck, Rock is a terrible example to use because he probably lost to way more people in his prime across the card but coasted off the fact he’s The Rock, something I don’t think anyone else in wrestling history could really do. He once lost to Al Snow. In 1999.

Curious to see who her first opponent is at Dynasty?
They have like 3 viable options right now.
I was surprised we didn’t see her during the Street Fight at all.

I really don't like the CEO thing, reminds me of Punk name dropping his favourite Zaslav who was in charge for the hollwood strikes, or Elon Musk, it's not something I want a face to call themselves, it's certainly not something I want to chant.
The happy to be there speeches are very Punk too but no matter what nonsense he said he at least delivered them well, Mercedes sounds too scripted.
I'm certainly going to be cheering Willow against her.

Yeah, I remember seeing a random Twitter thing with someone saying "CEO is a weird thing to chant because people aren't really fans of management in places these days" and my first thought was "And her calling herself "The Boss" was fine a few years ago?!"

I've said for years the entire Boss gimmick is a heel gimmick...

I don't know about Zaslavian imagery, but it does bring to mind a really strained and unimaginative process to get from The Boss to a new, similarly functioning nickname to say that she runs the place. 'The Boss' holds like, other meanings and colloquial ideas, CEO does not, and I don't think she's going to really impress me if she can't move away from what she was doing years ago and get to something fresher. Reinvention is the stumbling block I think people leaving WWE often have the worst time with and I don't really feel like a reheated late '10s WWE women's division gimmick is going to do much for me at the top of the division.

Yeah, Boss has multiple slang meanings... CEO is... literally just the CEO...

She was the Boss of her own life and now she's the CEO of her own life. People are overthinking it

She was the Boss of her own life and now she's the CEO of her own life. People are overthinking it Exactly. Like, my first thought when she trademarked it was “Oh, she can’t use Boss so she’ll use another term for it people know, CEO.” It’s not that different from “Daniel Bryan to Bryan Danielson” in my head.

I suppose you have to ask what the appeal of Mercedes Mone in AEW is meant to be (and that’s not saying there isn’t any). Is it her harnessing her talents and reinventing herself in a new environment? Or is it her taking her established persona (legal distinctions where necessary) and seeing what happens in a place more willing to put her at the very top than the other one was?

Of course, it's a heel gimmick, but nobody is going to boo her yet. And she'll look like a billion dollars being thrown around by Statlander, but eventually she'll heel turn, and everyone will say she's great.

The problem with heel Mercedes has always been that sooner or later, fans just want to cheer her because she’s so good.
