In almost 40 years of watching this stuff, the lesson I've learned is that ANY of these men and women is capable of shocking and disappointing behavior that will make you feel dirty for having liked them so much. And most of them, especially before the current generation, have at least one flaw or episode that's a red flag already. Austin has domestic violence in his past. Bret has serial cheating on his wife. Ted DiBiase Sr. turned out to be sleazy. Jericho has a litany of small but concerning personality things. So does Angle. So did Curt Hennig. Even Mick Foley has had some weird/creepy stuff with how he looks at women. We don't know them or what they're really like when they're not in front of cameras and fans. So it's always a limited amount of adoration for me, no matter what I'm seeing.
That said, I probably think the highest of Bret in terms of ability, history, his opinions and the way he breaks down the business.
