76. Mad Max (1979) 77. Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes (2024)
Definitely on par with the most recent trilogy though a little too long.

81. I Saw the TV Glow - Saw this in theaters. I have been seeing films in theaters quite often lately, haven't I? I was drawn to seeing this after seeing this attached to "Love Lies Bleeding." I have said it before - I am quite a sucker for A24, and I suppose the same could be said about independent films in general. Then again, I am a movie buff and I am not all that picky when it comes to movies, generally speaking (though I have my moments of being picky). With that said, I will give my take.
It must be said - This movie definitely leaves you thinking after watching it. If you watch it at face value, you might not understand the message it's trying to convey. Many of the themes and subtext have some kind of deep allegory for gender identity, but I also saw different metaphors for different subtext about different types of identity and reality. So the story has some kind of meaning that could be interpreted in different ways. If anything, I found myself relating to the story in some areas.
As for anything else, I did think Justice Smith did well in his performance. Brigette Lundy Paine did well in their performance. I wondered where I recognized that person from initially, until I remembered them from "Bill & Ted Face the Music." Also, the movie's soundtrack was awesome, whether it was the film's score or the tracks that were done by various artists and bands. I also liked the colorful lighting used in some scenes.
If you know what you're getting yourself into, I would recommend it.

25. Get Out
A black man goes with his white girlfriend to spend the weekend with her parents. Things get very very weird. It was really well done and the twists were creative and surprising.

189. The Little Drummer Girl (1984) - difficult to talk about elements since it's quite a major event in the world today. Wish it was a better thriller overall but not bad.
190. Red Eye (2005) - tense thriller with a brisk running time. I enjoyed the cast including the put upon Jayma Mays. I'm 50/50 on whether the pay off was worth it.
191. Domino (2005) - it's weird in a role practically tailor made for Keira Knightley she still feels a bit miscast here, I am a big fan of Tony Scott and it feels he is trying a little too hard to be well Tony Scott-y here.

56-Lego Justice League Attack of the Legion of Doom-DVD
She wanted something silly before dinner last night.Had this on the stack from finding it at Dollar Tree last year.
Decently made. Few decent jokes that the kids won't get. Couple of nice inside references.
6.6 Solomon Grundys needing pants out of 10
57-Thriller a Cruel Picture-Limited Edition Synapse DVD
So this is the film that Tarentino based some of Kill Bill off of. And Daryl Hannah's look in the film is taken from the lead in this.
This Limited edition just means this isnt the version released in the US back in the 70s. This includes the shot after the fact hardcore inserts. Adding up to about 4 more minutes of footage.
Really rough and very 70s brutal film. Doubt I watch this more than once every few years. Still finding it cheapp was great.
7.4 Christine Linberg in eyepatches out of 10
58-UHF-Blu ray
Got told after Thriller we needed something funny. So grabbed UHF. Almost a perfect movie.
9.8 out of 10
59-Hellraiser Revelations-Blu ray
Yea it is more than likely the worst of this long running franchise,Deader might be worse but I never remember anything about it. Was given this to upgrade from my old DVD of the movie.
3 main flaws with this movie are.New Pinhead isn't good. The makeup looks cheap and the person playing him is not good.Secondly this movie is very cheap and made fast and it shows. You can tell this was an ashcan movie. And last this didn't need to be this long. The entire story would work better as a 22 to 30 minute episode of a Hellraiser tv show.
2.3 out of 10

136. BLOOD MOON (2014) Western Horror movie that uses the term "Skinwalker" but essentially does a werewolf story. The lead actor is mainly a voice actor and it really sounds like he's doing his 'Red Dead Redemption' audition voice the whole time. Slows way down near the end, sadly.
137. THE BEEKEEPER (2024) Yeah, I need about a dozen more movies like this nonsense. Just an absurd action power fantasy where people in positions of power have no real protection from a righteous hero.
The main henchman being named Lazarus, and thus being the hardest obstacle for Jason Statham, is outright funny.
138. LOWLIFES (2024) A family on vacation are asked by a duo of redneck characters if they've seen a missing person. Later on, the same duo are blocking the road with their "broken" truck and ask for a ride home, just down a turn off, a long way from city limits...and then things...go...wrong...but this movie relies on a twist you may not see coming and rides off the momentum of that through the rest of the film. A top tier Tubi Original.
139. ROAD HOUSE (2024) Jake Gyllenhaal's playing of Dalton carries this film. Conor McGregor is stunt casting that's kind of rough when there are plenty of well built dudes with funny accents who would've been able to actually deliver the daggone dialogue much better than him.
There is an ADR'd "Be nice" in the film that feels like a contractual obligation.
140. GRADUATION DAY (1981) As seen on Joe Bob's Last Drive-In Show.
A year after a student suffers a shocking heart attack after winning a track race, a mysterious force starts killing the other members of the track team before Graduation Day.
Has more endings than Lord of the Rings.

#27) "Alley Cat", 1984 American action flick. Young woman fights street thugs with karate skills. 3 out of 10. #28) "Road Games", 1981 Australian thriller. Truck driver plays cat-and-mouse with the driver of a green van he suspects is a serial killer. Loved it, 8 out of 10. I quoted this from the 2023 thread because this is literally the first movie I'd watched since back in September. Life's been full of taking care of family members and work and little else, and I just haven't been able to get my head around sitting in one place and focusing on a movie in a long time. So... #1) "Shogun Assassin", 1980. The "Lone Wolf and Cub" manga was developed into a series of six movies in Japan, and in the late 70's an American group purchased the rights to distribute those movies in the US. They edited the first two movies together, re-wrote the dialogue, and released it as "Shogun Assassin". 7 out of 10.

2024 New Releases
#25 Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga
While I don’t think it’s quite at the level of Fury Road, this was still an incredibly fun watch. There are 3 main compliments that I can give to it.
- It is a 2.5 hour movie that feels much shorter. - It is a prequel that doesn’t undermine the original but enhances it by adding depth to Furiosa’s actions in Fury Road. - It is the second movie in a reboot franchise that makes me keen to see a third entry.
The movie is a little slow on action to begin with, taking time to establish who everyone is and putting the pieces into place. But once things kick off, as before the action sequences are prolonged, bursting with creativity and immensely enjoyable.
One final piece, Anya Taylor Joy does a worthy job. Kinda like Tom Hardy in Fury Road she doesn’t have to do much speaking but her expressive face works overtime. But for me Chris Hemsworth stole the show as Dementus. He was such a fun villain and did a great job playing this grandiose, grasping, would-be warlord
VERDICT: If you’ve seen Fury Road and liked it then there’s plenty here to enjoy in this worthy prequel that fleshes out Furiosa and the world of Mad Max. If you’ve not seen Fury Road, go watch it, then go watch this!.

82. Bad Boys (1995) - Watched this on Blu-ray. With the fourth movie coming out not too long from now, I was in the mood for these films.
I have always enjoyed this film. It's interesting to see not only because of Martin Lawrence and Will Smith and their incredible chemistry, but that it's Michael Bay's first film. Interestingly enough, it's probably his lowest budgeted film. Yes, it's typical with its buddy cop formula, but a lot of action films with that subgenre are like that.
Now to do "Bad Boys II."
83. Bad Boys II - Watched this on Blu-ray. I know I have heard my share of negative feedback about this film dating all the way back to 2003, but I have always liked this movie, for some reason. Yes, I can see a lot of the issues, whether it's the immature humor (like the electronics store scene) or the overblown action scenes, or even the fact that it was long when it didn't need to be, but I still can't help but enjoy this film. I will say that this movie has the Bay-isms in full effect. The explosions, the shaky cam, the overblown action, I can go on. Say all you want about Michael Bay, but he can do some entertaining action scenes.
I will admit that I had hoped for some theaters to re-release the first three around the time the fourth one's release, but it doesn't look like it. I would love to see this on the big screen. Maybe I'll try it on a bigger screen TV with the sound to try to make up for it because I didn't see it in theaters when it came out.
Now to do "Bad Boys For Life."

84. Bad Boys for Life - Watched this on Blu-ray. I thought about holding off but I was in the mood to watch this. I also recall having seen this twice in theaters, which is weird because the second time was only a week before the lockdown. It's crazy to think how we lived that year (2020). Although I must note that this film wasn't the last film I saw before lockdown, but I digress.
I will say that when I heard that this film was coming out 16.5 years (Yes, I get a little mathematical at times) after the second one, I wasn't sure what to think. However, even after all those years, Martin Lawrence and Will Smith still had great chemistry and there was still some good comedic timing between the two. Also, with this one being directed by a couple of different guys than Michael Bay, I could see that there was a different feel in some areas, but I could also see that they did fine trying to do some of Bay's trademarks like the spinning slow-motion camera shot and some explosions. Plus, this one wasn't as over-the-top as the second film, but it some of the style that the first two films had.
I did have some problems with it, and it's mostly with the writing for a certain plot element. I am not sure if the writers were keeping with the continuity but I recall the timeline dating back to the first one. In my headcanon, it's a little different, but that's just me. I still enjoy this movie, though.
Now I'm just waiting for "Bad Boys: Ride or Die" to come out.
