83. The Truman Show (1998)
I would go so far as to say it's the best Jim Carrey film.

85. Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire - Saw this in theaters. I had told myself to watch this, but I also told myself to binge on the other Godzilla/Kong films before this. I didn't get around to it and I also saw that this film was on its last legs in my area. It wouldn't be the first time I didn't watch the other films in preparation, although I wish I revisited "Godzilla vs. Kong" because this film followed that one directly. I plan to do it soon, however.
With that said, I did remember some characters from the previous film. I do also recall enjoying "Godzilla vs. Kong" enough and remembering certain elements of the story. I was a little lost on the story in this one, but I did think that some of the visual effects looked good enough. I know some people go into these movies waiting for the kaiju battles to take place, but like in previous films, we wait until a certain point for that to happen.
I wouldn't say it was great. I thought some of the acting was fine and the special effects looked good, but in some areas, I found it a bit average. I would even call it slightly above average.

60-Popatopolis-TerrorVision Blu ray
Jim Wynorski got know for making low budget horror films like Choopping Mall and 976-EVIL II. This documentary charts how he went from that to doing 3 day wonders that are made for Skinamax after dark.
They interview most of actors and actresses that appeared in stuff Like Witches of Breastwick and The Hills have tHIGHS.
7.8 Monique Parent commerical appearances clip reels out of 10
61-The Witches of Breastwick-TerrorVision Blu Ray
On the Popatoplis Blu a remastered version of this "classic" is included.
Not much plot. The little there is isn't bad. Acting is a level above what you see in films like this.
Nice curiosity to add as an extra on this release but I seriously doubt I watch it again.
5.4 Hot Tub Scenes out of 10.

86. Blue Streak - Watched this on DVD. After revisiting the "Bad Boys" films earlier this week, there was something that led me to revisiting this one. It had been years, maybe decades since the last time I had watched it (I'm not sure if I caught glimpses of it on TV here and there in that time). I couldn't tell you when the last viewing was, but I do remember seeing it a lot when I was a teen. It was on HBO quite often in the early-2000s. I do remember enjoying it a lot. After all these years, I think it still holds up.
I have heard some people have criticized Martin Lawrence and his comedic style in the past. Personally, I have enjoyed some of his movies, whether he was one of the leads or as a supporting character (like in the first two "House Party" films). I would say this was one of Martin Lawrence's better films. I thought he had good comedic timing and also worked well with Luke Wilson, who also had some funny moments in this film. The same could be said about the scenes with Dave Chappelle.
Also, like a lot of other action comedies that I have seen, there's always a villain that will make things a little darker and serious after some comedic moments, and of course, action scenes that go in a different tone (with the exception of that foot chase scene because there were some funny moments in that scene).
I would say that after all these years, this film still holds up. I am in the mood for some other ones like this, but I may need to find a way to watch some.

A gritty film that does a really good job of putting you on the battlefield, though 1917 perfected it years later. [***½]

87. Black Knight (2001) - Watched this on Hulu. After watching "Blue Streak" recently, I was kind of in the mood for another Martin Lawrence film. I recall hearing of this movie when it came out in 2001 as I was in high school then, but I have never seen it until now.
Personally, I thought it was fun for what it was. It was stupid and silly, yes. Martin Lawrence provided his usual schtick. This type of plot had been done before with its fish-out-of-water premise, especially in the Medieval era. But there were some scenes that got me laughing.
Was it good? I wouldn't go that far, but I had a lot of fun with it.

84. Train to Busan (2016)
South Korean zombie film set aboard a high-speed train. It's one of the better zombie films to come out recently.
85. Robin Hood: Men in Tights (1993)
Mel Brooks farce about the legendary outlaw. It still holds up today.

Spectacular filmmaking on every level. Easily the best Godzilla movie I've ever seen with the kind of destruction you want in this genre and a shockingly great human story. Also, incredible that this looks the way it does for such a small budget. [****½]

27. Ricky Stanicky
Three friends who made up a fake friend to blame all their shenanigans on. Years later, they need to find someone to pretend to be this person. Enter John Cena as a crazed, alcoholic performer from Atlantic City who tears into this ridiculous script and makes it very entertaining. Goofy and fun with a ridiculous ending.

74. The Mummy (1932)75. Blades of Glory (2007) 76. The Muppet Movie (1979)So I went to a Fathom Event for this movies 45th Anniversary. The theater was surprisingly much less crowded then when I went for the Labyrinth showing a few months back. So growing up my house really only had two movies on VHS to watch, this and Who Framed Roger Rabbit. So we would watch those movies A LOT on those Sunday afternoons where the only thing on television was golf and infomercials. I basically know this movie inside and out. So I was surprised to see so many people in the theater laughing at the jokes. Not that they weren't funny, it's just that they wouldn't cause you to laugh so much if you knew they were coming. Apparently I was the only one who knew. Anyways, classic movie, glad I got to see it in the theaters.

Not much in terms of movies this week for me.
141. RATS: NIGHT OF TERROR (1984) In a post-apocalyptic world, a band of scavengers come upon a science lab that has growing crops, a water purifier, a bunch of dead bodies, and a pile of rats in every room. They think they've hit the jackpot, but then the rats start picking them off one-by-one via the power of people offscreen throwing live rats at actors. Man, making movies in Italy sure seems fun...
The end of this movie is nutso bananas.
142. THE NIGHT OF THE HUNTER (1955) An evil preacher who moves from town to town, seducing and murdering widows to make off with their money gets pinched on a stolen car charge and makes conversation with his bank robber cellmate before killing the man and tracking down the family he hid the money with in order to seduce the mother and find a way to make the man's children reveal where the cash is hid. Incredibly tense at times with a top notch Robert Mitchum performance before the third act shifts the mood and slows things down in a way most probably wouldn't enjoy. I liked it all, though. What a film.
143. THE FIRST OMEN (2024) A visually outstanding horror film that delivers as good as it can while being the equivalent of "Rogue One: An Omen Story."
However, the seemingly tacked on ending of this movie is an insult to your common sense as a movie viewer. "They call him...Damien."

The campy reputation of this one does it a disservice imo this was an awesome creepy, psychological movie, really unnerving in places.
