So, serious question, what is Eric Bischoff's problem with Meltzer? He seems to hate the guy on a deeply personal level. On DSotR he randomly went on a rant about how Meltzer is an idiot and a liar in an episode that had nothing to do with Meltzer. What happened? To quote Miz, did he call his mother and Meltzer answered the phone? What's the deal? The anti Meltzer crowd tends to overlap with the anti AEW crowd, so it's a nice way to keep the grift up. It's so weird, too, because Meltzer is a lot more critical of AEW than he's ever given credit for. But because the Bucks named one of their moves the "Meltzer Driver," some people think he's in cahoots with them.

I generally believe critical thinking isn't the strong suit of people who want to cosplay the Monday Night Wars on social media.

The Bischoff/Tony beef really took off when Tony was critical of Ted Turner in a press conference. Eric has a lot of flaws, but I don't entirely blame him for getting defensive about Ted Turner. He's 20+ years removed from the wrestling scene, Eric has loyalty to him given their history and is said/thought that Ted is in very failing health.

The ultra extra gullible will see shit like Hannibal TV's fake expenses sheet that had journalist bribes as a line item three spaces under catering and buy it. But nobody's saying this shit because they sit down and listen to Observer Radio for news and have to deal with lots of AEW apologia.

I work FinCrime Prevention and pray literally every day somebody would be stupid enough to put "journalist bribes" on an expense sheet. Well, just behind someone wiring money with "I STOLE THIS SHIT" as a payment reference.

Dax keeps making great points counter to his grumpy old school wrestleguy persona, and I'm not sure how to feel about this.

FTR are 100% right there.
Although I do wish that Dax had given examples of some of the other podcasters who are doing the same thing.

Is 2024 going to be Dax's redemption arc? I don't know how to feel about that.

He has always been a man of contradictions, which isn't me calling him a hypocrite, just, he contains multitudes, I guess. Dax I've noticed tries to weave kayfabe into genuine answers which comes off quite contradictory. A big one I remember is when the Gunns won the tag titles he talked about how Austin and Colten knew the perception of them not having to work hard, but how they were 2 of the hardest workers in the AEW locker room, and how they'd talk to so many people to get pointers, extra help, ect so they could improve and he was proud of them... then he immediately said afterwards they had it easy and they don't realize how easy it's been for them. He also did it quite a bit when talking about the Bucks. Other than that I think the biggest sin of Dax was his idea of defending Punk morphed into deflecting blame to Meltzer and Alvarez which I think directly led to those two being more negative towards AEW as a whole for awhile.

If there's one good thing I can say about Bischoff is that you'll never see him take shots at people who took a chance on him.
I'm pretty sure he hates Greg Gagne, but he's nothing but complimentary of Verne. Ted took a chance on Eric and in all honesty, had he never left power at AOL/TimeWarner, I think he would have given Eric the resources and the time to right the ship.
